Sorry to bother you Bac. I'm suspected of pancreatic tail tumor and I need to do an MRI. I did a 1.5T scan 3 months ago but the body and tail of the pancreas could not be viewed properly because of the intestinal gas. Now my doctor wants me to do 3T because of the higher spatial resolution. The problem is I have lots of gas and the 1.5t scan from 3 months ago did not view the pancreatic body and tail properly because of intestinal gas. So wouldn't 3T be even worse for me? should I do 1.5t instead? Thank you

You don’t bother me. I’m glad I can share my experience. Firstly, I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Secondly you are correct regarding air tissue interference at 3T is more than 1.5T. It doesn’t matter if you have more resolution on your sequence but can’t visualise the whole pancreas. Thereby, I would have choose a high end 1.5T with good optimise sequence to highlight this. 3T can also be more challenging, you get more of everything such as signal but also flow/ respiratory artifact. I really hope you get 1.5T with proper sequences to visualise the Pancreas and answer the clinical question. I wish you good luck.

It came along with the scanner. Often these things are just thrown away somewhere. Ask your local what the part nummer is. I’m not sure unfortunately.
