Whenever I see either Kian Ming or Tony Pua, I feel sad, disappointed and angry because the DAP members did not support these two competent, intelligent and hard-working leaders. Maybe God has a big plan for these two in future, I fervently hope so. Regarding the high-speed rail, just like Tony says, it is a financial disaster, period. But then, many self-serving politicians out there want to implement one financial disaster after another, and there is no accountability whatsoever. For example, just outside the main entrance of Subang Airport, the Sky Park rail-link project stands out as a white elephant and another sickening case of the Malaysian Disaster; where is the feasibility study, what went wrong, who is responsible, is there any corruption or all these matters are "state secret", no discussion, full stop. Since independence, Malaysia has gone from one disaster to the next, when will the brave Rakyat come out and vote out all these " "Jerung "politicians. Last, but not least, I would like to thank both Kian Ming and Tony for their service to our country.

In many political parties, the older politicians seem to cling on to their power and positions as if they are the sole proprietors. Even practising dynasty style culture for its family members. Young voters and supporters are watching this brand of politics that is unhealthy for a party to grow and be dynamic. Nobody is not replaceable. Once you are not contributing and run out of ideas, the proper thing to do is to give way to younger ones as succession plan. Likewise, big and successful corporations change their top guns and even CEOs are replaced every 3 years in order to bring in new blood into the old corporation. .

HSR will be funded by private...so why is tony so worry about. He cannot see the spilt over benefit, not just as transport from point A to Point B. By his logic, only city with 15 million people can justify a high speed rail. Taiwan has highspeed rail between the city of Kaohsiung and taipei. Kaohsiung only has 2mil+ pop and taipei metro 7mil. The fact the sg KL the busiest air route in the world should justify the need to HSR. Yes, he is talking about people might rather take flight, but how does he know the cost of the one way is double than flight fare. To take flight, plus all the time getting to airport , check in +2 hours...it is about 4-5 hours...The HSR is plan to have a below 2 hours.

@@asean8081 Probably some agreement to develop the property along the route. The HSR itself might not be profitable, but the economy benefit is. Perhaps more multinational companies will relocate their office to malaysia from singapore as the travel time between the 2 cities is much shorter, many companies in singapore are relocating their HQ in view of the high cost here. The world only profitable HSR is between Beijing and Shanghai.

Previously it was not a private initiative. The latest proposal is private but no way private can proceed without some sort of government guarantee. Tony is correct. Someone has to answer all the issues he raised up about HSR first on whether it’s really feasible

@@kctoh6171 lol my man,that is off,HSR is not going to attract Singapore to set up office in Malaysia,in fact I forsee the latter where more Malaysian force work in Singapore Generally many reason why companies set up their bases as compared to Malaysia.Taxes, workforce and ease of financing are the main things.HSR is not going to change these arching reasons ,in fact it might make it easier for workforce allocation.

let's build some HSR most Malaysian can't afford and after build, the cost is burdening the country financial then blame it back to government for unable to manage... you know people from KL also want to save few hundreds by taking bus to Johor rather than taking a flight. You expect most people will pay way more for HSR than flight? Yea sounds very right. Before building all this fancy thing and high building like all the other old PM, why don't they just focus on the basic LRT MRT and bus first bruhhh very typical Malaysian, wanting the best, doing the worst

This few episodes had allowed me to get to know Tony Pua better. He seemed to be a realistic and more importantly more detailed person in not only formulating policies but also enforcement or implementation of those policies. I hoped both of you, OKM & Tony is only taking a breather from DAP’s actions because it’ll definitely be a great loss to DAP to loose you guys. If I may say so, I understand Tony’s reservation on OKM’s question re KJ joining DAP. As far as my take on any politician joining DAP, especially from a party that differ from DAP’s ideology, it is very dangerous to do that. A good politician MUST hold firm to his party’s ideology ( passionate ) because that’ll drive that politician forward regardless of their position in the party which may change from time to time. Thus, if KJ is that good, he should consider to rejoin UMNO later when possible to continue with his struggle of UMNO. Otherwise, he’s just another ‘frog’ without a passion in his politics. I like Tony’s remark on the HSR where he said the policy makers need to study in real financial sustainability. It a no brained that in business we must at least cover the ‘running cost’ to ensure the business is at least sustainable before we talked about ROI. Otherwise, it’s just a waste of public funds which helped to enrich someone else.

Firstly, government is not business. You cant say because the road between 2 Sarawak or Sabah or rural area only serve small population, and we dont care how it is done. Secondly, Taipei-Gaoxiong HSR is working fine with its own 7 million population. Perhaps Tony needs to study more. And Tony seems like cant understand the SG dollor effect will allow Malaysians able to work and stay back in Malaysia.

Today most of the project in Sarawak is using state Government money not federal Government why because Sarawwk have enough fund to cover the cost of the project. If Sarawak want to ask money for development from Federal Government i'm sure many projects have to wait for the budget before Sarawak can proceed with the project.

We can let the high speed rail go. Because the cost is much higher than the benefits we can get from it. We can take flights or ETS (coming soon), and buses to Johor or Singapore.

KJ,Ong, Tony and Saddik should join forces and form a common party to bring politics to a higher level to meet the expectations of young voters. They are a force to reckon when comes to elections. Votes matter in any GE.The politics played by old politicians iis decadent . Same old ideas and self protection although many are not contributing to society. Watching Parliament sessions live shows the lack of statesmanship in debating policies and law reformation leaves a lot to be desired.
