That is a beautiful ECSB, and exactly where I would like my 93 to be, but with the full interior (I have two young kids). She is a sweet ride my man, credit to you. I had no idea you could get those Welds in 5x5 lug pattern!

GOT-DAMN! Inspiring indeed. Got a '99 ext cab in storm grey metallic/pewter (10/98 date, yeah, it's an OBS). Only a real TRUE car (truck) guy can appreciate what you have done to this here truck. The time and most importantly: Money; that you have put into this '89 is just amazing. And them MT 6.0 valve covers alone?! Never seen those before but boy do they look good! Very well done.......

Just watched it again. Them ain't MT valve covers. Guess from a quick glance it just triggered automatically. Guess I'm too got-damn 'ol school. I'm still hangin' onto my '99 though.

Thanks a lot boss, truly appreciate your words, they’re GM Performance valve covers for the LS style engines, yea M/T valve covers were from way back in the day with the small block Chevy 350s lol

I just got a 97 ext with a 305 🙄 but coming from the west coast growing up and being on the east coast it’s not easy to find people with these trucks that want to do what you have done they are all lifted over here. I would love to throw a bunch of questions to how you did your swap! This is exactly what I’m going for with my 97

I built a 94 extended cab with a super charged 355 SBC. I had problems with the 4l60E holding the power. Finally right before I hit rid of it I found a guy who could build the trans to hold. Mind you this is in the late 90’s. What I did was unheard of. It wasn’t a blower it was a centrifugal supercharger. Nevertheless, just as soon as I got the transmission built to hold. I sold it. Never got to see what it would do in the track. What I did experience was night and day from what it was when it was stock. I did put it in the track once with a slipping trans and it ran a 12.95 as me it blew up the trans all in one pass. It was worth it though. lol

Yeah thats why i did it, I didnt have to take it to any one, I just used a afr guage and dialed in the all my jets, im actually getting very good mileage, about 300miles to a tank

Hey I want to run headers on mine I have the stock manifolds fit just fine, are you using the 1" set back plates for the motor mounts? How do you like the shoenfeld headers??

Frank da Tank I’m running the dirty dingo slider mounts, made it easier to slide the motor and trans to where I needed it to be able to use the factory driveshaft and 4L80E , and the headers are nice, this is probably one of the only sets I’ve ever installed where they don’t hit anything and the quality is pretty nice but I’ll prob be switching them soon to a 1 7/8” header to get a little more exhaust flow

Just depends on how much you wanna spend, if your looking to do a regular build or want to spend some money on good parts Summit Racing but even then most of their stuff cheaper or same price as anywhere else and fast shipping

Show in the other videos my rear suspension set up, traction bars and Viking adjustable relocated shocks, before I redid the converter it was only cutting a 1.8 60ft, still haven’t been to the track with the re-stalled converter

I’ve looked into it myself but I couldn’t tell you anything about it, but it does look like a really nice setup and tuning would prob be a lot easier

Zack Davis I’m just running a Factory Ecm and the harness is a stand-alone harness that was made pretty nice with a braided loom and all that I found used local to me on Facebook market place for $160, I was skeptical when I saw it but it was for my exact setup and I rushed over after work to pick it up and the harness was really nice so I got pretty darn lucky with it lol I can’t tell who made it but it was all labeled nicely.

Man like just a regular swap with say a stock 5.3 you’d prob spend around 2k in engine trans and parts, and that’s going like pretty cheap with everything, but always depends on how fast you wanna go lol

Raisin Bran you can get most parts from your local parts store, id spend the money on the better more pricey parts if it’s doable, it’ll save you a lot of time and money in the long run as I’ve learned you get what you pay for, for just stock replacement parts on all my trucks I just replace them with factory AC declo parts, I’m a service tech for a GM dealer and get all my parts mostly from there unless I can be cheap with certain parts and go to like O’Reillys, I also order a lot of my stuff off Summit Racing.

It’s a 5/7 drop, if you use the truck regularly I’d do a 4/6 and it’ll be a lot more streetable and comfortable, I get a lot of my kits from like Summit Racing

Schoenfeld 88-98 LS swap headers and some cheap jegs bullet mufflers, want to redo the exhaust with some better mufflers, threw those on cause I got them cheap from a coworker

I got a junk 6.0 block and took it to a local machine shop and he did all the machine work and assembled the long block for me and from there on did the whole swap myself, I’ll be doing a really detailed video on my truck here soon so stay tuned

Does the 4L80E fit right in to replace 4L60 or did you need mods? I assume you needed a custom driveshaft to handle that extra hp? Thanks

@@540chevhell9 fit right into place just have to scoot the trans crossmember a bit and make new holes unless you buy a aftermarket crossmember, stock original driveshaft from 1989 rebuilt and slip yoke replaced for a 4l80e

They’re 15x10 with 5.5” backspace, I had to cut the inside of the bed lip for them to fit in the wheel well and it’s still a tight fit

Stock shaft man, stock length and all just used Dirty Dingo sliding motor mounts to keep the stock shaft

And depending what trans you use also cause I’m running a 4l80e and since it’s longer than a 60e I just slid the motor and trans back to make up for the slack in the slip yoke but a bud of mine running a 60e in his and he has his engine slid all the way back and the slip yoke still isn’t long enough it’s only in half way but there’s different length yokes and I told him to possibly get a longer one

Mr&Mrs Sickness I’m planning on running the 4L80 just didn’t know what to do driveshaft wise because if you look around not a lot of people do the swap on ECSB... so I was like I’m going to have to get a custom drive shaft. The driveshaft you’re using is out of what vehicle?

I’m using the factory drive shaft the truck came with, I just took it to a drive shaft shop locally and had them replace all the U joints new, new carrier bearing and new 80E slip yoke, there’s 2 different size slip yokes if I’m not mistaken there’s 5.5” and 7” I believe I’m using the 5.5” one

4.10s and a Gm G80 locker but I have a Gm 9.5” 14 bolt I’ll be building for it soon but for now the 10 bolt will do

@@TheSicknessOBS what made you go 4.10, I have a OBS that's getting 6.0 swapped with a 4l80 but I wanna get some gears and a limited slip for the 10 bolt

Alfred ElLoco 4.10 is a good gear for street cars/trucks, you can still cruise at good RPM on the highway with a 4 spd trans and still have that high gear for launching, also since the 4l80e has a lower first gear than a 4l60e them 4.10s help make up for that

They’re just the schoenfeld LS obs swap headers, they’re like $250 I think new with a couple feet of pipe and some cheap bullets dumped under the end of the cab, I wanna change out the mufflers to some good brand bullets and maybe cut the besides out on each side and pass the exhaust tips thru each side

about a 5/7 drop, front is DJM upper and lower A arms, lowering coils and lowering spindles, rear is on a flip kit with relocated viking double adjustable shocks and traction bars.

Yes still 2 piece, just has new joints yoke Carrier bearing and corrected pinion angle

I was told by wheel and axle that the 2 piece drive shafts from these trucks with no vibrations and a good pinion angle last a long time few issues with them.
