Both Freddie and Floor singing together live is possible. Sort of, at least. Look for Marc Martel (and Queen Extravaganza) and be surprised. He was the guy singing in the film Bohemian Rhapsody.

If Freddie was still alive he would’ve loved this. When I first heard AF do this in 2007 which was my intro to Floor all I was thinking was if only we could hear this in REAL LIFE 🤘 There is always an unwritten rule that no one should ever cover a queen song, after forever have been the exception I would also say Metallium‘s version of the show must go on is pretty good also. 🤘

Freddie made the world a better place! And he still does. As a over 40 years Queen fan I still listen to him and Queen at least 4 times a week! You could say that in a way he didn't die cause his magnificence still lives on!

Aw. Hey man, I totally get it. This is a real heartbreaker. You're absolutely within your right to be heartbroken. Nobody else will ever be Freddie Mercury. And nobody else will ever be Floor Jansen. Whoever put this song together, this arrangement, is a genius. Floor needs to know that this was GREAT and I'm sure Freddie would approve.

This.. is why she has such stage presence. She is probably one of the few people living in the world right now who can command in the same way that Freddie did. She's right up there, you can see it, you can feel it, you are touched by all Nightwish' connectedness and you are never the same - such is the profound depth and beauty in their music, and of the person who has such a very special gift in how she expresses the meaning of every note, every word that Tuomas writes. Nightwish calls to every hungry soul that yearns to seek outward expression in a way that is like rarefied air, and we are changed forever because of it. I really really hope that it comes to pass that Queen, meets the Queen, and something so spectacularly beautiful comes from it, that pierces so deep into our souls it sends our minds and hearts into a place they will never ever forget, or ever want to. I can't imagine anything more powerful, more exquisite, and more complete..

In case anybody couldn't tell, this is a mash-up. It takes elements of Queens original track and combines them with elements of After Forever's cover. I've lived with this song since it was released on the Highlander soundtrack. Both versions are powerful a/f, but this is by no means an official duet.

@Lightbringer Nightwish is a group with its own sound, which I would not fit into a specific genre, with songs that do not meet the established musical rules. They are also a reference for other groups. That they are pigeonholed in the metal genre seems to me even a commercial error. These people make great music, of an unclassifiable type that a good part of the people like whatever their tastes and that very few musicians have achieved. Also, seeing how they take care of their live shows, they comply with the rule of "The show must go on" by Queen. By the way, I am not adept at any genre, only what I consider good music.

@Lightbringer Many people said that Queen was mediocre and then they filled stadiums at their concerts. This is what I'm seeing with Nightwish, although I think they would have more impact if they left the metal ecosystem.

@Lightbringer I always speak from my opinion and according to my criteria. On the other hand, all the people that I have put a song of the group has liked it (except for someone who did not go beyond the intro of "The Greatest show on Earth"). Both Queen and Nightwish have gone beyond their genre and as I've already said around here, Nightwish just needs to realize it. By the way, I'm not a big fan of any genre, just good music.
