lost generation is much worse then you think not only they were affected by war but due to world crises they would meet same fate in every country. they were also forced to finght war. even India can't remain untouched by world wars due to british colonial government. but ppl in small wars can leave their country and countries are also supported by their allies.

The jumping of Siptimus through the windosw is a later scene in the hospital where Siptimus is at peak of the PTSD, when Holmas enters, thinking of him as a monster, leading him to his institutionalisation which he fears, Siptimus jumps out of the window. Sir is overgeneralising it. Plus he is giving it superpecial theme. It has no conncetion with the idea that Englanders think they are the best and will be the best. It is an irrelevant idea. You will not find a sign of this in the whole novel.
