Hi Charity . I’m apostolic and I don’t wear jewelry too. I don’t wear ring or watch. I also believe in natural beauty (no make up) … and just dressing modest. I am happy to know I’m not alone❤

Praise the Lord. I am also on my natural and spiritual journey. I threw away all my colored make up and kept the natural tones. But I haven't used them since. I actually noticed my skin got better. Clearer. More beautiful. Everyone compliments me. I am always on time for church and to go out. I also threw out my jewelry. I feel so light. And it seems like it was never there. I am now noticing my beauty is me and not what I wear

Well, even men have to wear lip gloss as well sometimes, and lip gloss is actually a very useful thing, as they can prevent chapped, cracked, and even bleeding lips, and both extreme cold AND extreme heat can make that happen.

I’m not against any woman who doesn’t wear makeup intact I always encourage Natural beauty but the fact that a wicked woman wore makeup isn’t a concrete reason to condemn using of makeup because in 2 kings 9:30, the wicked woman Jezebel also tied her hair, dressed to seduce the prophets but we don’t condemn tying of hair, or wearing of clothings..

Make up is paint and is wrong in the eyes of God. The scripture said you shouldn’t put no cut or paint in your body. Also jezebel was also condemned by her looks and her deeds, not only that she was also called a prostitute. Also all that happens to Jezebel was the fulfillment of God word. 2 kings 19:36-37 36 Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel: 37 And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel. Leviticus 19:28 28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

I also strayed away back then as a teenager due to peer pressure, even though I came from a very strong Christian background. But since I gave my life totally to Christ I knew I didn't need any makeup so I constantly tell myself that am beautifully and wonderfully made by God and I know I am very beautiful without any make-up ❤. Thanks for sharing sis.

Example I understand why born again people dont wear jewelry...but some still wear pendants and broaches watches( though functional its still jewelry). Wedding rings have a function as well (to show man of the covenant between me and my hubby since we know man looks at the outward appearance 😌.For me I understand and agree with what she is saying. Your personal relationship with God will not change his word or his commandments and his ways, that we most obey. All the prophets in the bible have personal relationships with God but they all still follow the same commands as it was given from the beginning of creation. God will never change for anyone or never go against his own word that’s what the scripture said. What she is saying is 100% correct.

The Bible mentioned Jezebel’s usage of makeup to not say that makeup itself is bad BUT to show that HER using it was with wrong intentions (i.e to seduce). No one else’s makeup usage was brought up be cause it wasn’t significant to the plot, they didn’t use it in the same way. There’s no how in ALL of scriptures that no one wore makeup. Esther for sure did (she also wore jewelry and God still used her) and if you look into the history of Israel they wore makeup (specifically Kohl as eyeliner) and hair extensions. Nevertheless our standard is the word of God the Bible never spoke against these things because God looks at the heart. Looking natural is not synonymous with holiness. (that’s not to say that you aren’t holy, I’m just making a point) But our goal is that we follow God as he leads us, and I’m glad that you’re following him as he is leading you, continue to do so in truth and in spirit. 😊

“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.“Proverbs 31:30 What it means: Beauty fades with age, so if you are more concerned with your outer appearance, you will be unhappy when the wrinkles come and the number on the scale goes up. In fact, did you know that your body may show the beginning signs of aging as early as age twenty? That is why God wants us to “fear” Him. That doesn’t mean to be afraid of Him but rather to be in awe of Him and all that He has done. Let me put it to you this way. If you stand two girls next to each other and one is Miss Teen USA whose beauty is limited to physical beauty, and the other young lady is a more average-looking girl who loves the Lord more than anything, she is the more beautiful girl in the eyes of God❤

I don’t believe there is anything wrong with trying to cover up a acne scar with a bit of concealer. Or dark under eye circles. Those things happen to our face due to pollution, food we eat, stress, disease etc. I wasn’t born with acne scars/ skin issues. I’m still the same person with concealer, I’m not changing the features God gave me. God looks at your heart not outwardly appearance. The intent behind wearing makeup is what is important and what God looks at.
@MEAJJEKL
@MEAJJEKL 2 жыл бұрын
Are you aware of the ingredients in make up?? Using make up to cover up acne scars or dark under eye circles is like trying to put out a fire with wood. Research some of the ingredients. Many of these companies put very evil things in concealer and eye shadow, and every other make up product you can think of. There are too many natural alternatives that will give you healthy and lasting results for make up to still be considered an option. God looks at your intentions yes, but He will also warn you when you're destroying yourself with those good intentions. Many people have such an attachment to the things of this world that they would actually argue with the word of God without even realizing it, just to defend a practice that was literally taught to humans by demons! Yes, the practice of using make up was taught to women by DEMONS who rebelled against God and came down to earth to mate with and CORRUPT humans. But God isn't concerned with that?? STUDY YOUR BIBLE SISTERS! We will have no excuses when called into judgment because God does warn us. I know this can't be the first time all of you have heard make up being condemned, so instead of loving it so much that you would blindly adhere to the practice, consider looking into why people are warning against it.

I can relate to some of your reasons. *I never grow up seeing people wear makeup. * It's my personal conviction as well. * My church did not encouraged it. I ended up wearing light makeup on my wedding day. I don't see anything wrong with wearing makeup. I think the problem is your reason behind it. There are persons with certain skin conditions that use makeup to hide scars and very pronounced scars etc. I will have a part 2 response to the jewelry aspect.

Living in a world where there’s so much pressure that women are losing their true beauty and changing their whole selves as if God made a mistake when he was creating them. Only if women would stop listening to society and the media and listen to the word of God, then they would realize that they don’t need to add any chemicals on their bodies to make them beautiful.

I must say, I never thought about makeup/jewelry that way before. I was taught that makeup should accentuate your natural beauty, not hide it, that it should be used minimally. (My mom only used light/neutral colors, and would apply it very lightly) I was also taught that jewelry is nice, but you shouldn’t go overboard with it, and that wedding rings don’t need to be anything super fancy. These days I don’t really wear makeup or jewelry very often, except for some special occasions. I’ll definitely keep what you discussed in mind. God bless!

No matter what decision you decide to make, be sure that the most and the only important looks Good Is and will be looking at is Our Hearts and Souls. Personally I don't allow anything material define my physical or Spiritual personality. I Channel my energy towards living biblical principles of Loving God and loving my neighbors as myself. Christ emphasized that as the simple expectations of God from His Children. I see a lot of people who practice this makeup free, jewelry free lifestyle, yet are one of the most selfish, hateful people still. All am saying in summary is, let our Christian lifestyle not forget that Christ's demands is simple and it's , Love.

I'm not sure if using makeup is against the Christian faith, but I find it strange when people complain that having such rules is too restricting. On the other hand society expects women to dedicate their money and time to put a "mask" on their face because they have been trained to believe that without makeup they're not presentable to the public. I think it's great to decide to be free from this habit that costs us time and money and makes us self conscious about our natural face. I think those who fight to defend it should genuinely ask themselves WHY it's so important to them to use it.

I go to deeper life as well! I am 17 and my mom and the church did not raise my sisters and I up to be wearing makeup, jewelry (rings, necklaces, earings, and things like that). But the thing is, based on how Christianity is viewed in America, I tend to like jewelry especially necklaces. I don't think anything is wrong with it because there are strong Christians outside that wear it. But there are times where a bride from deeper life (in my district) wears makeup on her wedding or a woman we know has attachment on her hair and when i ask my mom about it, she just says "is that your standard???" in a voice that I am just complaining for no reason. Nobody also seems to care about it but when a younger person wears it, everyone will start shouting at the child, even the one that ware the makeup or the jewelry. But the thing is, their not my standard but they are the ppl that I am supposed to look up to. If they are wearing it, what do they think other younger girls will do. I just feel like there are people that don't practice what they preach and its kind of annoying.

Hmm, thanks for sharing! I would encourage you to look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). I agree with your mom that human beings are not the standard but Christ is. We must identify and understand our calling as believers and the specific path the Lord would have us walk and trust His grace as the enabling power to sustain us on that path irrespective of what others are doing or not doing - I remind myself of this often especially recently.

I am also a Deeper Life member, I joined this church when I was 18, God has been my helper. I also passed through the university, being mocked then, yet the Grace of God was and is still very sufficient. I believe every teaching from our pastor,W.F. Kumuyi as I have confirmed most of his teaching with the bible and those that have near death experience. I don't copy or emulate people. Looking unto Jesus should be your standard, not church members. I know that some Deeper Life members use Brazillian wool, and some little make-up here and there. The question is this, who is your model? Some young mothers these days use attachment on their little daughters' hair. My kind counsel. Make Jesus your standard. Always consult the holy spirit before you do anything. God's standard is the same for all races and for all countries. No one can change it. Go and listen to Near Death Experience Testimonies, You will remove the necklaces, rings and all forms of attachments.

Hi charity u look very young maybe 20ish so your skin is lovely & even & flawless. But not every1 skin is so beautiful I have pigmentation & sum dark spots & dark circles to so need abit of concealer. Or powder I don't wear lips stick & eye shadow. I'm a Christian also. If u need abit of concealer god is not goin to chastise u for it. He looks on the heart not on the outward appearance. Man looks on the outside appearance. I don't wear jewellery also like chains & rings but wud wear a wedding ring as men are looking at u & may thing u are available. If u not got a band on. It's matrimony the bishop that's does the wedding . Need the wedding ring to bless them I 🤔 think It's up to u if u don't want to wear them but its not a sin. To wear them. Every 1 is trying to be holy on these petty things god will guide u 🙏 to walk ✅️ right if u ask the lord whot he thinks & not do whot u think. He loved u anyway regardless but will guide u in all truth the bible says. Sorry to go on. U are beautiful & ur hair to & ur personality to once sum1 told me I shud'nt relax my hair as a Christian. I✝️ was thinking its not right. But I prayed about it ; god gave me the answer it was ok or I can have natural hair but it wasn't detrimental to my faith walk. So it's gud to pray & ask God he wants u to ask him. As he's lord over your life 🙏 Love & god kx❤❤ bless 🙌 🙏

Anything that maketh a lie shall not enter the kingdom of God Revelation 21:8,27; Isaiah 3:16-24, James 4:4, Deuteronomy 22:5, proverbs 7:10, 1John 2:15-16, Be ye Holy for the Lord God Almighty who created you is HOLY so be ye Holy in all manner of conversation. dressing is a conversation. Be Holy in ur dressing, be Holy in ur inside and outside, talking, walking, in ur action etc. God bless you

Romans 14 does show us that we do need to follow our conscious when it comes to things not stated in the Bible. When it comes to jewelry, head coverings, braided hair, etc., it's equally important to know the historical context behind those verses (and each book of the Bible). That way, you can properly discern what or what not to do regarding these things.

Interesting video. I may have to listen again, but where in the video did you state you asked God if that’s what he wanted for you personally. I heard a lot of I don’t because that’s how I was raised, that’s what I saw and that’s what I am being taught by way of the congregation. I say all that to say one must have a personal relationship and conviction about these things and not just go along like sheep not challenging potentially wrong interpretations. Also, unfortunately I see some judgements in the comments wrong judgements in the comments almost looking down on women who wear makeup for the ones who don’t, but don’t see that in the reverse. Maybe that is a reflection of their being a heart matter to address and legalism. In all things do it to the glory of God.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. I agree that at Creation everything God made Was good until sin entered the world! How many chemicals are we as women are putting on our faces. Our skin is the biggest organ we have. Look at the ingredients, less is more. Shea butter, coconut oil, Oliver oil. Like food, one ingredient . If you can’t pronounce it or know what it is, it probably should not go on the body. Remember, if you still choose to wear makeup, often less is more. Recently I saw a report about how young girls hate themselves because they are on social platforms looking at what seems to be someone who is “perfect”. It’s an illusion, otherwise it wouldn’t take hours to paint on the face or photoshop. Women who believe that wearing makeup is not a necessity should encourage young girls with self esteem and let them know they are Enough!

Well, luckily the bible is full of excuses for both the wearer and the one who decides not to wear makeup and jewelry. I often use the example of exemplary Christian women in the Bible to support my decision to use both things, apart from the freedom I have to use what I want on my body... For example, Rebekah, who married Isaac, wore a nose and gold bracelets and other valuable jewels that Abraham, his future father-in-law, had given her (Genesis 24:22, 30, 53). Another example is that of Esther, a young candidate for queen of the Persian Empire. To prepare, she agreed to receive a "beauty treatment" that apparently included the use of "cosmetics" (Esther 2:7, 9, 12, The Book of God’s People). Also, regarding the jewels, look at what Psalm 24:1 and Haggai 2:8 say, and I use the event of Exodus 32 to carry them on any part of the body I want. As for Jezebel, she was judged by her actions and not by her appearance, I think it’s a bad idea to use her to exemplify why you don’t wear makeup.

Please read your Bible. God Himself said "my people perish for lack of knowledge". Educate yourself on the Holy Word before shrugging off the warnings God gives you through his people. Only a REMNANT with be saved, so it would be wise to consider that maybe there's a long list of things that God is "worried about" that we overlook. We are all responsible for working out our own salvation, so please just consider her words and read the Bible.

we don't need to follow a list of dos and don'ts to be saved, that's works..... working out our own salvation doesn't mean we have to work to keep it and be in a constant check list of how we are going. and we shouldn't limit our freedom to someone else's personal conviction before God. we are born again when we believe and confess with our mouth Jesus is lord. salvation and sanctification is different. i'm sure God is concerned with make up use if it's an idol in our lives and if we are insecure he wants to heal that. He is most concerned about the condition of our hearts and intent behind what we do. moderation is key. each before God.

hey charity, thank you for the video. I don’t wear makeup and jewelry as well for some of the reasons you mentioned. for jewelry, God made it seem like a “good” think when he was describing how he took care of Jerusalem in Ezekiel 16: 9-13 and doesn’t regard it as a sin in that sense but can you please clarify this??
@troyalfred
@troyalfred 2 жыл бұрын
Hey sis, Jewelry of itself isn't sinful, if you read the old testament, can't remember the book but I think it was Exodus, where God was telling Moses how He should build His tabernacle and the other things. Do you know what was used to help build it, the Jewelry of the people, whether gold or silver, when the molten calf was built by Aaron, it was again the people Jewelry that they had one. Now before they committed that sin, Jewelry of itself was good, because God Him told them to collect them, men and women wore earrings in those days, there was never a law given where they shouldn't wear it. However, people use Jewelry for vain and evil reasons. So the purpose is what is more important, why are you wearing it? Is it so you can draw attention and be seductive? Or is just a simple ring like a wedding ring to just indicate that you're married and you're not free. That's important. So to me, there is no fixed position on this, one has to know their aim and purpose behind wearing it. Remember even the temple, new Jerusalem, was adorned as a bride adorned herself for her husband, when you read how it is adorn, you'll see it had all manner Jewelry on it. And the Bible would never use something that is sinful to describe what is holy and acceptable to God. So again, it's about your purpose behind using it. Hope this help a little. God bless sister.

Wedding Ring. Is the only one i still wear. Reason: Functionality. Its one sure way to keep the boys n men away without much talk. It says what it signifies. This Lady is Someone's Wife. There's no other way to tell i am married up front, and i struggled with this at a time when i was trying to stay off Wedding Ring. One man who was seriously hitting on me in a public transport, when i let him know i was married, this man literally begged me to go buy a ring and not walk about like that, since i am a married woman, stating that it was not proper. This is an experience i had more than once.

Ezekiel 16:12 always makes me think the Lord is okay with jewelry if he would speak in such a way, even if it's not literal and the way our ears are made. i thought theses verses were addressing the error of focusing on the external too much and neglecting the internal beauty, which is such a shame and not even easy on ourselves. I like your video i think there is great freedom in not wearing make up and jewelry and freedom in wearing both if we want to but knowing your true beauty isn't build of theses external things.
