Hi Brook l think you have fibromyalgia Look it up

he has pain, stiffness & inflamation in her joints. The most severe areas for her are her chest, legs & back. She also gets imflamation of her eyes which where we live is hard to diagnose & treat as there are no specialist anywhere near where she lives. She has a Rheumatologist that she sees who is 3 hours away that she sees once a year. Once diagnosed, her specialist has to try every none drug to find one that will help with her pain & inflamation. Here is Canada, patients have to try everything available first before they will sponsor their patients with Biologics. These drugs are extremely expensive & the only way she was able to receive them was when nothing else was proven not to work. What a blessing as she is much better now that she is on these. I wish you a speedy diagnosis & on the right road to living as well as possible with AS. You can do this! ps - my daughter owns a catering business & she is a work horse. Also I forgot to mention that my husband also has Spondylitis his symtoms became less when he got older. His sister has Crohn's & her son has Colitis. Turns out these are all related to a muted gene.

I am so pleased that Brooke is being pro-active here. Many times early intervention is key. I had Spondylo-losthesis . (Sp?) as a teen, and if a wonderfully talented back surgeon hadn't stepped in, I could easily have been paralyzed. I have gone on to have an amazing and active life... filled with gratitude.

I totally understand and agree with everything she has said, and Brooke, it does get better! I have had AS and Fibromyalga for about 5 years now. One day, I was perfectly fine, maybe a little soreness and a bit of a headache, and the next day , I was flat on my back. It does get better once they find out what it is, and you don't feel crazy with all the bizarre symptoms. I do wish and hope you start having better days soon. Love much, ❤️ Jordan Williams.

I couldn't agree more! Another thing is to move even a little bit every day. Don't let pain get the upper hand. I made that mistake for years. I have chronic pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, Sjogren's, CRPS, osteoarthritis, degenerative disk & joint disease, etc. I spent several years unable to walk without a walker and most of my days and night in bed. When I decided I was done with that and began to move just a little bit each day, I started to improve. I went from 100-200 steps a day to an average of 2000-3000 steps a day. It was definitely NOT overnight but I did it. I still have bad days but it's OK. I still move. I'm still upright instead of in bed. And, I am happier and taking less medication because of it. Always give yourself grace too. Allow yourself those down days because your body needs healing time between activities. I love the Spoon Theory and the concept of how to conserve our energy and what happens when we don't listen to our bodies.

I am 55 years old, and I have been dealing with AS since I was 19. By the time I was 22, I had my first hip replaced. The second one was replaced when I was 24. I have to say that I am on the proper medication now, and I am doing great. I have to be careful with my neck. It is pretty fused, and not much mobility left. It is good to hear that your doctors are moving so quickly. I wish you a quick diagnosis so the doctors know how to treat you. I wish you the best. Good luck with everything.

I have AS, OA, and Fibromylagia. It took me forever to be diagnosed because nobody believed it. "It was a "male gene" autoimmune disease. I'm on my 4th Rheumatologist. I'm disgusted with the Drs I've gone too. I'm following Drs on You Tube that has taught me to cut carbs and eat basically meat and eggs. No processed food. It's made a world of difference in my inflammation + weight. My dad had it (totally fused) he had uncle's with it as well as cousins.

I wonder if the pills have caffeine in it. I recently had the flu and bronchitis, I took a pill for phlegm and mucus, non-drowsy . What a mistake. I didn't sleep a wink until the pill wore off. I realized the non-drowsy is what kept me awake. So, do your anti-inflammatory pills have caffeine in it? Hope this helps. And I pray that Jesus lay his healing hands on you and your family.
