There are too many Lost Boys and Lost Girls in the world. Nova is a hope, ray of sunshine, a Wendy Darling with a great story to tell.

Pat Benatar said this back in the day, in 1983, in Love Is A Battlefield. Her music video for that tune is a slap in the face for those that throw shade on the lost girls.

Nova is a chameleon, she changes based on what is needed for the mood of the song. She can go from rap rap to breaking your heart to anything in between. Nova signed with a label back when she was a teenager, 18 I think, and has only now gotten out of the last of the legal entanglements from that. This is her first solo, fully independent release. Such a powerful song. 💔 🤘❤‍🔥 #NovaRockafeller #HangOverGang

Nova did a live where she watched content creators react to her song. She was bawling. She talked about how raw she was because of the song. She had written it a long time ago. She also shared that she got a call from an old friend to let her know that one of the girls they grew up in the group home with had overdosed.

She tried to keep it light and bubbly musically so we could survive the lyrics. But for me it still hits hard enough I cry every time and pause a lot. I was homeless for two years (21-23), but as a guy with a brain I made a lot of good choices and never went hungry or broke the law. Does it count? Yes. But it's not even in the same category.

This song is no doubt one of her best solo efforts! I love all of her old stuff and all her Tom MacDonald produced music. Hey You, Problem, Dear Nova, Call Me Batman and Lost Girls,,,thats my top 5 Nova songs! She is a brilliant artist who was betrayed by the music industry. Tom MacDonald was her knight in shining armour he saved her from the music industry and she saved Tom by believing in him. I dont know if Tom breaks through without Nova? Is Nova Tom's muse or is Tom Nova's muse? I think its a mutual arrangement,,,whatever it is its magical.

I am glad you are there to support your daughter/ I can see when you said you are sheltering her...but please don't hide the ugly truth of the world from her. I was extremely sheltered and when I graduated and left home, I had no clue about the dark side. Ended up getting raped multiple times. Now I have PTSD.

We have a lot of talks with her about these kinds of things. We are making sure she feels safe to ask us questions and talk to us. And I don't ever want her to worry that she needs to leave home at 18 just because she's reached some arbitrary number. I'm so sorry you went through that. I can't imagine how awful it must have been. I hope you find peace and healing. God bless you 🙏

Or maybe she loved the way it sounded with this song and didn't think anything else hit the effect she was trying to produce. Lazy is not a word I would use to describe Nova.
