Whoever wrote the script for the dub is straight up killing it 🤣🔥🔥 And also this: 3:47 "He was quite the skilled adventurer, but I wonder just how far he would go." I love how Mr. Tansu implied it could go both ways: How far Laios would make it through the dungeon, and/or how far Laios's freak-ness (for eating monsters) would go. 🤣

The cringe line doesn’t quite fit the scenario, I thought. It is a fun line, but in context it felt confusing to me

@@enlongjones2394 Yeah, Chilchuck should've said "Poor timing there!" or "Still eating here!" or smth like that. But hey, I like the cringe line solely because it's fun to hear it 🤣

One smaller change I really like is at 2:12, going from a meek "yes" to an equally meek "yes ma'am". Like I said very minor on the whole, but I think it does a good job selling that Laios knows how thin the ice is there :D.

OMG. There has got to be a ridiculous but actual D&D campaign story like this out there. Some poor group of saps who did something as mortifying as this and ending up fighting the big bad of their story this way. And the BBEG just has to go, "Why are you dressed up like that!?"

Weird. In the Japanese, Laios was praising how Marcille’s ears make her suit look more frog-like. But the dub has Laios say that the frogs’ eye-parts look like the rest of them have big round ears.

One of the few animes where I prefer english dub. The voices are fitting and dialogue good. Moreover reading less lets you appreciate the scenes and vibes more

最初マルシルの「とっとといくぞ」が「let's go」だと、ちょっとニュアンスが違うと感じた。「とっとと」の「と」は「疾」だから、「さっさといくぞ」に近い意味。マルシルの言葉は、どうしようもない怒りを抑えた諦めによる、上から目線の雑な命令口調だと思う。この感情からの発言と、カエル衣装や周囲のギャップが笑えるわけだ。一方、英語版はマルシルの太めの「let's go」にライオスが「yes ma'am」と応えている。「とっとといくぞ」の、あのおもしろいやり取りが、英語版だとライオスの返事で完成している。命令口調が受け手によってはっきり分かる。よくできてるな～と感心した。ついでに言語の不思議な魅力も垣間見た気がした。

Things can get lost in translation but it’s the same in the end. Literal translations as opposed to dialect changes would make these translations basically impossible to even look at

Oddly enough, this series is better with the German dub on Netflix... i say oddly since Germans are about the closest to actual Vulcans that we're gonna get.
