@@sukumuieywang8058 In my opinion Byakuyas bankai sort of represents his hotheadedness he had as a kid in the Turn Back the Pendelum arc and his shikai is more like the calm, elegant persona he shows as a captain.

@@kattyRL But there’s no change at all from Shikai to Bankai except for the amount of blades. It’s not as though it’s harder to control or anything like that. To me it’s just a very logical and simple progression. Which from my perspective symbolizes how Byakuya is no nonsense and straight to the point.

@@kattyRL I see what you mean but thing that makes me dubious to agree fully with that interpretation. Anger takes many forms, sure it can be calm and focused, but it can also be wild and explosive. Byakuya may have been hot headed as a child, but I’d wager that his short fuse was more a result of immaturity and stress from being brought up as a future head of the noble family. I believe that if a Zanpakuto is the reflection of one’s true self, then his Bankai is a reflection of his stoic and straightforward personality. A calm shower of petals that encompasses all, and when focused, becomes a torrent of blades that eviscerates his target. No fancy tricks, just a straightforward attack to destroy the enemy.

@@darknesswave100 I hope Isane’s shikai has other powers aside from growing extra blades. Yumichika’s changes shape and does other stuff, so maybe hers does too.

people forget about Itegumo (Isane's Shikai) and Gonryumaru (Chojiro's Shikai, prior to either the TYBW arc or the Zanpakuto filler arc) a lot, maybe because they never made a return, especially Isane's Zanpakuto.

@@darknesswave100 its Omaeda, Soi Fon's Lieutenant, the one who fought one of Barragan's Fracciones during the Arrancar arc (with the elephant looking Resurreccion) he used his Shikai there again, so it was more remembered, despite not showcasing its abilities as much. BTW its name is Gegetsuburi, Omaeda's Zanpakuto.

Why was it so big tho? If anything it should have been a small gun or canon that could fire so much power in a single small bullet or something like that.

@@giovonemendoza6531 the way I see it is her shikai is the steath form for single targets but what happens when an assassin needs to kill on a large scale or when the assassin needs to basically kill without regards to a specific target like taking out a village her bankai fits that perfectly

I believe that her Bankai can still evolve like others. Because how she said she dislikes it’s form she probably never experimented with it. If given enough time I could see it instead being like the Iron Man Jericho missile, or becoming armor turning her into a human ballistic missile.

@@rogue1248 well, more a taste. We're finally shown it's true abilities, but he can only barely use it for a short while. It's still very weak. He's far off from being able to use it to its full potential. For example, Its likely his armor could have a similar effect to Yamamoto's Zanka no Tachi: West when he grows up. What I mean is that while Yamamoto burns up his surroundings, so much so that he'll end up destroying the realm he's in, Toshrio will probably be able to gradually freeze the realm.

I feel like at least Ukitake has to have his revealed. Everybody else I'm alright with not really knowing but Ukitake got robbed throughout the whole series and hes got an imo cool shikai so the bankai would be nice to see in the hell arc

ok but Shuhei's was more impactful because Yumichika's was already omitted its abilities during the Soul Society arc, so it wasn't much impactful for me because i already knew something was up with his Shikai.

Soi fon goes the same way yoruichi, their special ability is yoruichi self developed shunko, its the thing that separetes them from the others shinigamis, they have this unique ability which can make bankais useless or even a zanpakutou itself being obsolete in yoruichi case, its also something that can be used together with a bankai and improve their powera even more, if soi fon master shunko to the same level yoruichi have, all she would at all need would be her shikai to make her OP, moving that fast and with that much power and having the ability to two shot someone altogether is already plenty OP in my opinion.

I mean… The new captains except rukia have no bankai reveal yet. Poor Iba doesn’t even have a shikai reveal.

@@phuayizhong7890 I think it’s more of a side character issue than power issue. Kenpachi is the only soul reaper ever to become captain without a Bankai(as far as we know). Unless Kubo decides to sleep on these characters even more(which is likely, sadly) I’m hoping to see some bankais from Isane and the others.

Agreed but he also said “at the time” before we knew that was the case. I probably still would’ve gave it a half reveal due to the fact we didn’t know what the flowers did once they ran out and they were being HEAVILY implied to do something, rather it be forcing him out of his Bankai or as seen way later edging him up and bringing out the full power.

under that logic most if not all bankai could be said to not be full reveals then as there is always room for improvement and new ability's

I really did just take his word on it and assumed it was down to his bankai being as powerful as it is!! I stand by my head cannon that his Zanpakutō is the equal of Yamamoto's fire based counterpart. But only at the assumption it's been trained for as long as Ryūjin Jakka has of course. So I was always under the assumption it had limits capping it for balancing purposes. Totally blew my mind when I read his true powers/rapid aging for the first time!!! Still low key wish it was a permanent aging though, he looked so cool as an adult!! :0 👌

I can’t imagine Kyoka Suigetsu isn’t his bankai. Plotwise its the only thing that makes sense.

@@that1guy614 I think his so called shikai is his actual Bankai, cause Aizen is known to be a liar, lying about his actual Bankai, so he could pass the captain exams, for it to be fake. But it’s stated he became one with his Zanpakto, meaning he’d have to have complete mastery of his Zanpakto like Ichigo did during their final fight both had morphed together with their Zanpakto, so I think absolute hypnosis is Aizens Bankai or he’s just built completely different and doesn’t need a Bankai to beat 6 other captains by himself.

There's no precedent for a shinigami to have no access to Bankai, I believe (I dunno, only watched reviews and explanations of the suplementary material). If the theory of Shikai is a show of your external face, and the Bankai is an expression of your true self; then aizen's Bankai should be something more akin to "equality" symbolism. I always associated Aizen to the _Machiavelli Princepele_ : a soveireign, or in this case, a potential sovereign, who wills the two sides of morality to obtain/maintain his domain. But not only that, Aizen is heavily tied to revolutionist ideas as well (even his name, Aizen, could be a not so subtle nod to newly-established USSR film director Sergei Eisenstein, famous for his innovations with montages and making people perceive footage in "different ways" depending on how it was cut and put together. I suggest checking out, it's worth just for the analysis and the similarities I imagined popped in your head with Kyoka Suigetsu and the "art" of Political Montages). It is well later elaborated in the "can't fear your own world" novels I believe, that the noble houses of SS actually took apart the body of Rhea the Soul King, the glue that hold the worlds together, in fear of his powers. But Aizen resented Rhea (every time I refer to "soul king" my mind immediatly goes to Brook from One Piece, Yohohoho) not only for his passivity at this moment, but for engendering passivity in the Soul Society for the rest of time. Bureocracy grew up to the point no one questioned authority, and those who did, were serevely punished and didn't know who did they offend, only that the Gotei 13, the Central 46 or even as dirty as the Onmitsukido and their assassins, murdering those classified as "dangerous" without the chance of a defense. No one knows about Rhea, and the original sin of the Noble Houses. But Aizen knew, and I'd love to see some sort of one shot of Aizen adopting his resolve and forging his later plans, because once you know; it is *very* hard to pretend you don't, specially when you have plentiful eyes watching you from *e v e r y w h e r e* in this realm made of Reishi, no wonder Aizen had to be extremely cunning and play the part to the bone and soul. All of that to say that, I believe that Kyoka Suigetsu was the answer that Aizen truly needed to make a change, to play the part AND investigate in the meantime. But also had a part on fucking up his sense of self in the meantime; which is why I think he crafted the whole confrontation with Ichigo to begin with. This Ichigo versus Aizen is a big, BIG can of beans to analyze in this aspect I've been describing, there are a lot of factors to be discussed: --------------------> First of all, Ichigo came to Aizen sights from way before his actual birth, with the whole Masaki/Isshin and White Incident, from that, I believe that Aizen grew from observing the boy (I don't exactly know what to call it, I don't think it is cold as an "experiment" as much people like to say their relation was, I like to give Aizen the humanization he so deserves, he might be one of the most "human" characters in the whole series, but note this doesn't necessarily mean that he is a sympathetic character) what was first empirical curiosity, evolved into genuine curiosity, the feeling of "how high your ceiling will go" kind of deal. ---------------------> Second of all, the necessity to best a beign with the same "Three/Four-way Reatsu": Shinigami, Quincy, Hollow and 'Fullbring' (I'm not entirely sure on the latter, since it's implied that Rhea is somewhat a source of the fullbrings' power), to test himself against the same type of being that represents the might of what could be up sustaining the very fabric of reality. ---------------------> Third, and last of all that I can think of right now, the Royal Guards: mosty specific the leader of the Zero Division Ichibei Hyousube. This man is the final frontier for Aizen. A big counter to the Hogyouku, as it has a name and resonates with the will of its host, which also has a name. Also a counter to Zampakutou. And even altering Ichibei's senses in the present, Ichibei would still know his name from the past, as far as we know, Kyoka Suigetsu only affects you in the present, altering the senses of anyone caught under Complete Hypnosis going forward and so on, he can't alter previous senses (a.k.a. memories) to them, like Tsukishima; or perhaps change the senses they would have in the future (a la All Mighty, but just pre programming the senses they'll perceive)... or can he? Now constructing all of this into formulating Aizen's Bankai: It fascinates me that the biggest threats of the series are all linked with altering aspects of time, as broken down above: Aizen with altering the present; Tsukishima with altering the past; and Yhawach with altering the future. Tsukishima altering the past creates terror but also , by handpicking memories of the past and (not) altering resolutions on the present, giving the illusory and temporal vibe of its ability (I get confused with the "Zangetsu Replay Incident" to this day, but this is on me). Yhawach forsees the multiple future timelines in which he is able to succeed, and by choosing to follow the most optimal timeline, his resolutions turn absolute and flawless on the present, unless challenged by some quantum dilemma (that I don't even know exists or is it just theoretical, I'm no physicist) where there ARE no options in the chaotic system (which can be summed up by the Uryuu as the Antithesis... I guess? Again, this one is also on me, I didn't get that much, my b). What is the difference between these and Kyoka (Complete Hypnosis), besides the past/future dichotomy explained? Well, Kyoka Suigetsu is the best of both worlds in my opinion. Of course, it's not gonna be as godly as the powers of the All Mighty, but not as passive as The Book of End. It acts where it needs to act, in the present, where it can be seen and continually be seen due to Aizen overwhelmingly reiyatsu, given they witness it's Shikai release. Now if you allow me to quote/paraphrase Keicho Nijimura, older brother of Okuyasu Nijimura from the famous manga JoJo Bizarre Adventure Part Four: Diamond is Unbreakable: "An Stand [Supernatural Ability] is like a car; it doesn't matter if you have a nice 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider Convertible; if you have never driven before and been given your license yesterday, you'll crash the damn thing into the first Arby's you'll find". It doesn't go exactly like this, but you get the picture. Kyoka Suigetsu becomes a Stradivarius at the hands (well, should I say... body) of Sousuke Aizen, a wonderful extension of someone's desires in the long and short runs. But will it Bankai? What is the fullest culmination of the present, of the now? This second? This Milisecond? This Nanosecond? This Picosecond? I'd wager the secret of Kyoka Suigetsu's true Extended Zampakutou is playing with the concepts of what this "present" trully means in therms of thematical symbolism, and how can we perceive ourselves within the present. One thing that comes to mind is how Szyelaporro dies: the present for him is distorted to the point of one of, if not the most agonizing moments I felt in the whole series. I don't think something following exactly a carbon copy of this would fit the bill, but more on the "Simple" Bankai side, like Urahara's for instance. But I couldn't for the life of me try to think of a possible concept hahaha. It's enough of my brain juice to muster all of this texto already lmao. To those who read till the end, thank you. TL;DR: Aizen fingers himself to activate Bankai: its big peepee.
