There is no overlap. The ring is for those who don't want to wear a watch or just want to wear a traditional time piece and not a smartwatch. Using both to decrease error will be a very unusual and extreme case.

I think you missed a final scenario for the smart ring, in that you already have a nice/expensive watch and don't want to wear two watches. I would look forward to a smart bangle. It would be large enough for long battery life and more sensors. A small strip of a screen or series of notification leds could be added to get the best of both worlds.

Samsung has used the Ultra naming convention for over a decade. Apple first used it two years ago. This an evolution of the Gear Sport and the Galaxy Watch Pro. The latter of which came out before the Apple Watch Ultran and still has more features. This is why it helps to actually know tech, and not a single company.

A band is a band and not to mention it's a watch meant for extreme use cases in which the color orange is more visible in those use cases so just because they decided to join apple by making a watch that compete head to head it's a copy ? The ring is the best part of this release. I personally always struggle in choosing which watch I want, on the one hand i need my galaxy watch to tract all the stuff (sleep, steps, etc...) which doesn't allow me to wear a normal, stylish watch. Here's what I think Mrwhosetheboss missed. The ring is appealing to people like me because it's enabling your phone to do everything the watch can do. Except I just have to pull the phone out of my pocket? Not a con for me. The pros are that I won't have a watch I need to charge, I can still get all the benefits from the censors, and the ring is more resilient.

I find watches pretty annoying to wear but i liked the fitness tracking the smartwatch gave me so the ring sounds pretty sick. I had a galaxy watch but i just stopped wearing it because it irritated my wrist and i had to charge it every day. I dont think im willing to pay $400 for a ring though

Out of all the products Samsung has demoed, I think the Ring gave me the most interest. I don't need to use a bulky smartwatch to track my exercise, plus I can go swimming seamlessly and not worrying if my watch falls off.

I am "Option D" - someone who swaps out watched with nicer traditional nom-smart watches, But hate how once I swap them the health tracker stops tracking. Now when I swap watches the health tracking will continue on my ring. So I'm looking forward to that :)

I think you forgot about pinching jester. You can take photos and stop alarms. Also it is nice for people who wear classic watches and still want to track health. I peresonaly pre ordered it because I can turn off back up allarms without getting out of the shower.
