All Mississippi teachers and paraprofessionals are required to participate in four hours of dyslexia awareness training. This is the MS Dyslexia Awareness Session 2 Hour 4 provided by the MS Department of Education.

I can't help but wonder why does our state do so much required testing when they know that this problem exist with the majority of our students. While testing students are not allowed to take a brain break during state test, Makes me wonder what's the purpose of workshops like this when the information we are presented cannot be used when taking state test for students who have not been identified yet. It's kind of hypocritical to offer these tools to teachers and yet they cannot implement them.
