The melodies are personal. Maybe people helped her develop the songs, and obviously people recorded with her but to say someone helped her write is just wrong. I make beats. If I send a beat to an engineer to master doesn’t that now mean he wrote my beat?

@@drubert1981 Glasper was not even serving as a “director” based on how he described the situation. He was one of the many great artists in the room who all got paid for their services. I get it, and Glasper is not the most lovable person so his words don’t come out so well at times, but respect the piece of art she put out. Lauryn Hill can’t play any instruments well enough to record so of course she had to bring people in. Why not bring in the best?

She was everything on that album as was stated but she never stated it was a solo effort. They were musicians who were plug and play. She told them what to play and how to play it. End of story. I don’t know why y’all going around taking lying ass Glasper’s word (actually I do but that’s another story) . He wasn’t even there 😂

This is beyond beautiful ❤❤❤ The Queen and Prince...i grew up as a teen listening to the Fugess..and later her solo career, defining my top 5 (she battles Nas for 1st and 2nd) ......always appreciating her gems and love for educating and inspiring through her gift....she has carved a lane no one can ever travel.......and now my kids are a fan of her Son's music...and so am I
