Thank you for posting this. I joined my family on my Parents’ 50th anniversary cruise in August of 2006. Thanks to your video here, I was able to see again the last real vacation our family took together. Within 10 years my parents were gone...

I am starting my freshman year of high school now and I don't remember much about going on this ship in third grade. (6 years ago) Seeing your video brings tears to my eyes, because now i remember so much about it. My cousins and I played a lot of scrabble in the library. also I remember playing shuffle board oh the lower promenade deck. Thank you for my memory's. =)

The Volendam is such a great design. Its funny to think of it as a small ship because it is actually huge. The new remodel has made it better than ever.

She's a good ship, sailed on her during her 1st Alaskan season in 2000. She looks very much the same 18 years later, which is perfect as there wasn't much to improve upon.

the sports deck is deck 9, the only thing on deck 10 is the oasis, which is the teens area. just a small correction for you. :)

I had the opportunity to play in a band on the Statendam to Bermuda and then come BACK playing on the Volendam, total of a week. UNfortunately i had to cancel and got someone to fill in for me. I had been with the band for almost 8 years Yea, i was the piano-man but NOT ( Smith ) Would have been a nice trip, NO cost for me except for the extras, and of course, missing more than a week at work. Oh well C'est La Vie

This ship looks old and small. Looks like it needs a trip to the dry-dock for a make over. Sources say the ship was launched in 1999. Pool deck is rather small and not room for many chairs.

I was on there they need better basketballs on the court...... the food an chefs are 5 * the blue carpet is really nyce

There are some fun activities you can participate in when the ship makes port during the proof. For example, I went zip lining and rock climbing on our cruise. The cost of these excursions are not included in the price of your cruise. In addition, if you don't sign up for the excursions prior to your cruise, you have to sign up for them during the cruise. The excursions office is where you do that.
