See what food MSC cruises offer aboard the Divina cruise ship for dinner & lunch. Overall the MSC Divina buffet was a bit underwhelming as there were very few gourmet items. Carbs such as pasta and rice were prevalent, while proteins such as pork and chicken were much more comon than beef. Shrimp only appeared in a few dishes, and were of the small variety. There were, however, plenty of white-fish entrees. Pizzas, handmade by chefs in front of guests, were very good, as were some of the Indian dishes such as the Lamb Curry. If you are a fan of Asian flavors, however, be prepared to be disappointed. The best item we tasted at the buffet were Asado beef ribs that were amazingly tender, juicy and flavorful.
Some of the desserts were quite good, though presentation is below par vs other cruise lines. There was a nice "Children's Corner" area for kids at the buffet, though ironically we saw more adults raiding the dishes there. An "Ethnic Corner" section during lunch provides food different parts of the world, with a new theme daily. Late night snack at the buffet consisted mostly of pizzas, some sweets and fruits.
One very positive aspect about the MSC buffet is that they close later than many other mainstream cruise lines. Lunch runs from noon to 5:00 PM, while the dinner buffet starts at 6 PM and doesn't close until 9:30 PM. Late night snack runs from 9:30 PM till midnight or later.
