Learned from many years cruising that the departure port is important to the environment on the ship. They say about 90% of the people that you depart with are from the general area of the departure port . So the departing from New York you’re mostly get New Yorkers and/or people from up north. From traveling and is my experience that people from bigger cities are very pushy and not as nice and not as gracious so that’s why I choose not to travel from New York cruise ships and if I can help it on planes too, because that’s what you get with your fellow passengers. Preferred to travel from Southern ports were most people are fairer, nicer, and gracious such as from New Orleans anywhere in Florida or in Alabama or Texas…just my two cents you might not believe that to be true and that’s OK too.
