Hi. Quick question - after updating the various entries in the MCDU, if you click on the softkeys next to V1, VR and V2 the value changes to a higher speed. Should we leave it at the original or accept the new, higher speeds please?

The CG you took from the fuel & weights section was not the ZFWCG, it was the CG with the selected amount of fuel. To get the correct ZFWCG, you first have to set the fuel to 0, read the CG value for the MCDU later on and then add the fuel. Is this correct? Other point: You didn't enter anything into the RTE RSV/% - isn't that the contingency fuel from the flight plan?

Very good tutorial. I noticed a couple of things though. In no particular order. Be careful what fuel you look at. You loaded the block fuel minus taxi fuel when you looked at the flight plan (4.5 tonnes). Actual minimum block fuel was about 4.7 tonnes. We don’t take less than minimum block annotated on the OFP. You said taxi was about 0.2. That means 200kgs, not 0.2 or twenty minutes. Ironically it had Man as a 20 min taxi and AMS as an 8 min taxi. It would be the other way round in reality. AMS has a looongg taxi route when you land. Contingency is RTE RSV. It should be about 5% of your trip fuel. Not 6 mins. However we do use statistical contingency fuel in real life. I can see INIT B page needs work as those figures would be populated once all the data is in. We don’t put the THS value in the Perf page. If you want to as an aide memoire, that’s ok. But we don’t do it on the A/C. It can lead to confirmation bias if we get it wrong! The take off shift field is only used if we despatch with no GPS and take off from an intersection. I’ve never gone with both GPS not working so it’s never needed to be populated. You inputted the wrong Flex temp. Your performance calcs gave you a max flex of 67°. But the actual calculated flex was 65°. Not a lot of difference but be careful on inputting the correct value. You said you can’t take off in flex on a contaminated runway. That’s correct but rain isn’t contaminated. Contamination is water or snow more than 3mm deep over more than 25% of the runway. Rain is fine and just considered “wet”. Thus you can still use a flex take off. THR RED/ACCEL alts are nominally 1000’/1000’ AGL. Unless you’re doing an NADP1 (noise abatement) departure where the ACCEL will be 3000’ AGL. If your airfield has an elevation of 200’, the THR RED/ACCEL alts will be 1200/1200, or 1200/3200 if it’s an NADP1 departure. Hope that helps. 👍

Why THS UP1.0 ? This is something that is affected by TOCG I think, but it does not exist MCDU for the moment, that's the reason ?

On Xbox the Fuel manager is different and doesn't display Centre of Gravity. Is there any other way to figure it out?
