As a long time MSG fan who wore this album out when it was released this is the first time I have heard Holmes on vocals. Man he was perfect for this. So sad he couldn't have taken over when Barden parted ways.

MSG forma part del meu genoma. Són fantàstics. Tant se val quin artista passi per la banda acompanyant a Michael Schenker. Els adoro! Érem tots tant joves! 11 maig 2022 Barcelona. Concert a la Salamandra amb Robin McAuley. Em vaig morir d'amor. Tots van estar genials i divertits. Gràcies MSG.

The day that you came to me Was the day that changed my world Those memories are sadder now Was I to know it would go wrong No I didn't leave you But we gotta get back somehow Never deceived you So stop running away I never want to hear you say I was living out a lie I'll always want to hear you say I want you I need you I never thought I'd find Someone who will always be there You know I'm gonna make you mine You said you'd come back again I never knew exactly when Never could accept the pain All the time I took the blame I want you I need you I never thought I'd find Someone who will always be there You know I'm gonna make you mine The day that you came to me Was the day that changed my world Those memories are sadder now Was I to know it would go wrong No I didn't leave you But we gotta get back somehow I never deceived you So stop running away' I want you I need you I never thought I'd find Someone who will always be there Gotta make you mine

Man... Ain't this from the best decade ever...the 1980's? It was perfect time except for lacking the internet and KZfaq.

Love this version with Derek St Holmes singing, would have liked for him and Michael to have done a whole album together. But Derek's ego is bigger than Michaels

Barden wrote the melody to this song. Did St Holmes anything comparable afterwards ?

Actually Derek's wife had just had a baby and MS wanted to do an extended world tour. Derek told MS he felt it was important to be home with his kid. MS has said they parted on good terms and that Derek was the best rhythm guitar player he has ever played with, including with UFO. Derek has also said he felt uncomfortable with how hard the rest of the band was partying and felt it was affecting their performances.

St. Holmes fronted Whitford St. Holmes after Aerosmith, but it didn't last. He also sang a bunch of the best Ted Nugent songs.

I remember getting this album at 16 back in 1984 I think it was. MSG were not as popular as Van Halen and Black Sabbath and were virtually ignored on the radio ( at least in the USA) back in 1984

Derek St Holmes sounds great here and on various other recordings by other musicians. ? Just curious why he never established a decent career on his own.

Can't believe it's thirty-six years since saw them at Preston Guild Hall. Derek St Holmes destroys Gary Barden on vocals.
