Loved this build! For Nevada, Strangerville would be a bit of a stretch because there aren’t many red rock formations like that here; I’d say that Oasis Springs would be a little more accurate for a Vegas style build (or even Granite Falls if you’re looking more north around the Lake Tahoe area).

I am from Utah, we do like jello here, especially green jello we also have cold storage rooms or rooms to store extra food underneath the porch in the basement. Not all of the bathrooms have carpet though which I'm glad about! I was not aware of the law about a paper bag and a violin. Thank you for making me aware and I'm glad I don't play the violin.

I noticed that you haven’t done IL yet - when you do, please don’t concentrate your Zillow search on the Chicago area. A good 90% of IL is farmland, rural areas - so the lot across from the Heckings or even their lot would be perfect especially if you can get a view of the “faux” cows in the background.

I grew up in a middle class neighborhood on the North Shore, so you can imagine how long ago that was 😉 An Illinois farm house would be awesome, I wonder if there was anything unique about them, or if one in Southern IL would be very different than in Northern IL

Oooo yes. My grandparents had a farm in rural Illinois. Lots of Illinois is just really flat farm land, so I wonder if there's a way to create a fake field of wheat or corn in the background. Or include a barn and an old truck or something. Or a grain silo since you can do curved walls now!!

I'm from Utah and it is definitely a mixture of settings. During Thanksgiving, my family would drive around 4-5hrs south from the snow to St. George which was 80 degrees. I live in a swampy area by a lake so we only get 3 or 4 inches in the winter, but I can drive 20 minutes to my Dad's house and he has 2 feet. If you were to visit, I recommend Bryce Canyon. It's a mixture of red rock and forest. Skiing is also very popular, but I've never gone. A lot of celebrities have winter homes in Park City for skiing. Fun fact: a few famous movies were filmed in various parts of Utah. All 3 High School Musical movies, The Sandlot, and Footloose were filmed here. Independance Day and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 both feature scenes filmed at the Salt Flats.

Fun fact about carpets in bathrooms! It's a safety feature for people with mobility issues, especially the elderly--bathrooms have a lot of water that can puddle on the floor and rugs are actually a really bad tripping hazard. (Before my mother's death, we had to get our home evaluated for her safety and the inspector told us to remove our area rugs.) So, the compromise is carpeted bathrooms. Also, they were apparently in vogue a few decades back, but that's the reason people would install carpet in them nowadays.

It would be cool to see New Jersey represented :) I live in North Jersey and the styles usually are cape cods which are uber-popular here. NJ is an interesting state with lots of cool things like massive forests (pine barrens), beaches, gorgeous historical towns, cities, and everything in between. We are also an old state and we were one of the original thirteen colonies!

Excited to see what you choose to build for North Carolina! We have a little bit of everything here- pastel beach houses on huge stilts along the coast and Outer Banks (there’s an island inhabited by wild horses who are descendants of Spanish mustangs!) I live in the coastal plains where red brick ranch style houses are the norm with several grand historical homes. The piedmont, where most of my family lives, has plenty of bungalows with deep porches perfect for porch swings. We also have the mountains with the gigantic Biltmore Estate and quaint Victorian bed and breakfasts. I would include log cabins in the mountains, but for some reason we North Carolinians would rather cross over into Tennessee if we want to rent a cabin 🤷‍♀️ This is such a fun series! I remember when I was a youngin’ I’d watch slideshows of homes for sale on our local cable access channel before church every Sunday morning. Now we have Zillow and looking at the houses of different states and countries is my favorite pastime 😆

Growing up my grandparent’s house (Ohio) had burgundy carpet in the bathroom and I vividly remember throwing a fit when they got it updated to tile flooring 😂 It was nothing like getting out of a cold/wet tub and standing on warm carpet 🥰😂 but now thinking about the type of germs in it as an adult I’m not that upset anymore lol.

I'm from Utah and I've definitely seen a few carpeted bathrooms - including my own before we got it renovated, haha. I think most people here tend to renovate it. This does look pretty similar to a lot of older neighborhoods here, particularly around south Salt Lake, Murray, Brigham and Logan. It snows a lot in the winter here and it can actually get very cold in both northern and southern Utah in some areas. (Make sure to visit Bryce Canyon in either summer or fall - it will be snowy there in early spring since it's at a high elevation!)

Would be super cool to see some kind of Michigan lakehouse or something you're never more than 6 miles away from a body of water, even if they aren't the great lakes so it'd be cool to see some funky terrain stuff playing with that! it could also be fun to play around with, plus nearly every home that isn't a trailer has a basement! You could also do some kind of duplex, since there's a good number of houses here that look like one normal house but are for two different families, at least in the places I've lived and been around.

Can't wait for Texas! It's kinda hard to tell what kinda style to go for though. We're a big melting pot😅 I'd say for the most part there's lot's of green. Forest, plains, Farmland. But also we have huge cities. As for homes, I see lots of brick homes, suburban homes, my town has lot's of two story Victorian homes. And plenty of trailer homes and double wides. But that's just in my area. I know big wrap around porches are also well loved here.

I am originally from UT... Greatest Snow on earth... Yes ma'am. The 2002 Olympics was there. Even if there is 5 ft of snow, the schools don't close. You can travel 20 min in any direction and be in the mountains. There are several lakes with lots of fish. As well as a river called the Jordan river that runs throughout the whole city. Started in one lake(UT lake) and it ends in the great salt lake, which has more salt than the ocean. You can't drown in it, as it has so much salt, you float. Most of the salt that we use for cooking, is from UT. The movie Pirates if the Caribbean where Jack Sparrow is in fact Jones locker... That was filmed in the salt flats in UT. My husband actually got to meet him and some of the cast, as he worked for traffic control specialism and they hired his company to put devices every few ft, to help them get out of the middle of the dessert to get back to civilization. When driving in the state, most streets are layed out in a grid system. With the Salt Lake Temple being zero West, zero south... Just a few things most people don't know. No, I don't live there anymore. I've been in Albuquerque, NM for 5 years. But I do miss the mountains, not the snow tho. 🌨️

The odd floor/wallpaper choices SCREAM my childhood home here in Oregon; blue carpet in family room and dining room. Family room had white walls that were like, speckle dabbed with light blue. Dining room tho? Two walls had the white walls but speckle dabbed in PINK, and the other two walls were half wood paneling and half very dated floral wallpaper. Then the two bedrooms up front had brown carpet (not the same tho) and the back bedroom had cement floors. Kitchen was an awful blue tiling which was not the same tiling used in the bathroom or the laundry room.

For California I would suggest building a Victorian. There’s a college/suburban town named Redlands that has a castle, historic downtown area, and beautiful Victorians, Spanish homes, and mid century moderns. For the world, Redlands, California is at the base of the mountains and is desert and grassy. So I would use newcrest or the grassy area of oasis springs. I hope you use the town and state I’m from!

id love to see your interpretation on colorado! i could have sworn you’ve done it but i checked the playlist and apparently you didnt so id love to see the location you choose to represent! southern colorado has a much stronger southwest vibe or the more famous vail/aspen area which is the fancy mountain areas lol

Michigan please. Maybe a west side of the state house or something from the lake shore. Michigan is so much more than Detroit

My grandma’s ENTIRE house was carpeted (bathrooms and kitchen too) so as a kid it didn’t seem too weird.

If/when you do Illinois, my suggestion is to concentrate on Chicago because we have some gorgeous homes. And one fact is that everyone knows we're called the Windy City but it's NOT because of actual wind, it's because of our politics....politicians always talking an BSing. lol

Just a heads up I believe you put the pot on the part of the stove that the sims use but I think the back ones and maybe even the left one are safe to clutter up 😊
