Keep all settings from the ikon wizard and see how the model flies. I’ve Never had to adjust any gains other then the tail gyro gains and I find that out on the maiden if I need more or less gain.

Make sure when you click on level and rescue in the software the ikon is level on the bench,

Yes rescue and gyro need their own channel so if you want rescue you need a 7th channel to assign Aux 1 to. Like I did for my Dad’s heli with his DX6 if you want rescue set the tail gain in the software which will free up a channel for rescue. No headspeeds have nothing to do with the channels. Headspeed is changed by your throttle curve in your radio or your ESC setup.

I plan on using the brain2 with a 6 channel transmitter and receiver, so I guess this would be a similar configuration - as you mention it - as your Dad's DX6 setup. My question this time is, what are the channel assignments for a 6 channel setup? I went through the Brain Configuration Interface PC App in demo mode (nothing plugged in) to have a beforehand view at the matter. In the "Advanced Menu" - "Receiver" the App lists the Channel Assignments. It says right now: Aileron: Channel 1 Elevator: Channel 2 Tail: Channel 4 Pitch: Channel 6 Tail gain: Channel 5, which can be checked to "Is set in software", which as you say frees up a channel Setup selection: Channel 7 Throttle: Channel 3 B-Aux1 (Auto Level/Rescue): Channel 8 B-Aux2 (CH2 Output): Channel 8 B-Aux3 (CH4 Output): No Channel Now, if I will free up the Tail gain channel (Channel 5), that still leaves me with 7 channels to be assigned, and this is what confuses me. How would this Channel Assignment list typically look like for a 6 channel setup?

@@Abszurdista-fatalista Reassign Channel 5 as Aux 1 instead of gyro and choose the switch you want to activate rescue associated with channel 5. You still only have 6 channels so you are reassigning channel 5 as your rescue channel.

I would do all the castle programming first so you don’t forget.

It’s how the heli feels and reacts in flight. Each mode choice has increased rates and expo. Beginner model limits banks and flip speed. Extreme is higher rates less expo for full hard 3D flying. You can also add more expo in your radio if desired. I always just flew the preprogrammed flight choices.

@@crmodels okay, that makes sense, and just to confirm all others except beginner will allow full movement for 3D flight correct?

This is all dependent on whatever ESC you are using and if you are flying Gov mode, external Gov, flat curves etc... I setup the ikon first and then the ESC 2nd. I don’t use the ikon gov and skip that menu. I’ve always used Castle or Vgov for throttle management.

I had it pull left or right before. The ikon might not have been level when you did the setup or it’s getting some vibration during rescue.

@@crmodels well it was level in the helicopter is really smooth I have it with double-sided tape like they recommend

@@crmodels I have gone through the setup menu again and make sure I did not have anything wrong and everything looks good have not had a chance to try it again because of the crappy weather

Correct. Set your castle up in heli mode with the castle link software and then calibrate to your radio.

What ESC? I’m using HobbyWings now. I don’t do anything in the Brain/iKon with the gov screen it’s all turned off. I using the HW built in StoGov mode.

Yes switch to 11 if using modern digital servos. I didn’t see the Freq menu in there so figured maybe they got rid of it.
