Msheireb Downtown Doha is strategically located in the heart of Doha, the ambitious and thriving capital city of Qatar - only minutes away from the Hamad International Airport and midway between two key routes into the city. Msheireb Downtown Doha defines a city in transformation.
To the northwest of the site is the picturesque Corniche which leads to the new iconic skyline of West Bay’s commercial towers, and to its east, the financial district across Grand Hamad Street.
Adjacent to the project is its most illustrious neighbor, the Amiri Diwan, Qatar’s seat of government, and across it, the traditionally restored market and leading tourist attraction, Souk Waqif.

Very nice, and well kept; the architectural concept/style is, somewhat, reminiscent of that found in the administrative districts of many large European cities.

Actually it’s inspired by the old Arab cities(they even mentioned this when they advertised for the city few years ago ), the streets in the old Arabic cities are small to create shades and protect from the sun most of the day. Msharib is actually the old doha so they decided to rebuild it like the old Arabic cities not like the American planning (wide streets cause it’s absolutely not fit for a hot climate) ,that Arabian gulf country followed starting from the 60s which was a big mistake.It has nothing to do with European Architecture cause this will go against the purpose of rebuilding the old city.

@@mariusmatei2946 i live there mate !, I’m talking about this project in Msharib it’s inspired by the Arabic Architecture,that’s literally what they said on the project announcement. There are some places in qatar that are inspired by different world architecture including European but in limited small projects. Msharib is not one of them! .when you see Msharib when you have a little knowledge of the old Najdi Arabic style architecture and European architecture you would know that this project was inspired buy the Arabic(Najdi) Architecture like how qatar built in the past. Also the whole project was to revive the old central Doha why would they make it a copy of some other city with no regard of the history of the region or climate! stop trying to link everything back to Europe!! Let me surprise you my friend different parts of the world have different culture and climate and they developed they’re own cities and architecture according to their need and life style! Try to travel more.

Very nice. I would remove all of the cars - make the cars park on the outside of the down town area, strictly walking/biking area on the inside and build the WHOLE country using that style and architecture.
