I just bought this laptop for $2340 with the 32 GB RAM, RTX 2070, & i7 9th Gen. upgrading from an MSI GP62MVRX Leopard Pro with i7 7th Gen, GTX 1060, & 16 GB RAM.It’s a great laptop for what it is but I want more in my frames then 60fps and less throttling because it had started to do that over the 2 years I’ve had it. With the new MSI I plan to do more VR and play newer high graphically demanding games. I plan on selling it and getting the refurbished version since it’s still in warranty. Overall, Great Buy and Video!💯😇

I'm looking closely at getting this machine but the lack of Gsync support is putting me off. Are you able to enable Gsync compatible mode in driver and does it have major issues?

you should consider the new msi gl65 leopard. same specs except it only have 512Gb NVME (you can upgrade) and the 10th gen i7. I got one from amazon for 1400$.

Performance Comparisons with other laptops using same cpu/gpu would have been nice, specially FPS, battery life and thermals. Great review otherwise!

This model is a piece of crap - MSI Raider GE75 9SF with i7-9750H with RTX 2070. I have this model and it has a few failures already. The biggest are temp. which can be even 100 C at the start of the system! And lately the buton for changing the lightning of my keyboard doesn't work and I've tried every method to make it run with no effect.

@@Introverder well i have the 9sg model with RTX 2080 mine got no problems temps are fine too when gaming it goes to 85 c only time it hits 95c when i am 3d rendering but even that it hits all core boost of 4 GHz. U might consider replacing the thermal paste with artic or thermal grizzly I have not done it yet but seen improved temps online because the pre applied intel paste is trash anyway.

does this laptop need to do undervolting the cpu to get the best performance out of it ?

Yes, it does. But you will not get better performance, instead, it will become much cooler. ~75-80 degrees at max load, if you change the paste and thermal pads too.

@@ShvyrkovAnton He will get better performance, cause cpu have only 45 watts at mix gpu+cpu load, so, after undervolting, it gives you a lot more mhz, like mine, at battlefield5 3190mhz at stock, long session, and 3590+ mhz after undervolting by 120 mv(-120mv) in bios! Thx MSI for that feature! Regards))) After 1 year of use, can say, thats a great machine! Cheers! BTW, i overclock my gpu a lot +155/1400(msi afterburner), its rock solid performance, use for vacation and travel, very happy! Regards! )

Is the Msi GE75 Raider its predecessor? If so what's the key differences between the GE75 and the GE65 version?

Different screen manufactures and no SATA bay in GE65. Chi Mei N173HCE-G33 panel in GE75; Sharp LQ156M1JW03 panel in GE65.

@Mohammad Al-Shuwaiee battery sucks when gaming but you can put it on eco mode (limited performance) and it will last longer. But if you're gaming you need to keep it plugged in as it does have a lot of power. When im playing call of duty warzone I see everything clearly. When I'm killed and spectating my teammates screen I see things they missed and they say "aww man I didnt see him". But I did. Then they die too. Lol

@@osmargombbcl nope. its actually a good thing to discharge batteries fully every now and then. but if you havent bought one by now, DONT BUY THIS MODEL. THEY HAVE A NEWER VERSION WITH MORE FEATURES FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY. Refresh rate is almost double and there were some other new things but i cant remember.

Hey I already got this laptop, and I need to have the charger connected everytime I play video games, the question is ¿does my battery can deal with it or is it gonna get damage with the past of the time? I don’t want to remove the battery but if I should I’ll do it then

I plan on getting the i9-9880h/rtx 2080 (full laptop version) just cuz I probably won't be able to build a DESKTOP pc anytime soon.

i9 is useless here because it is too hot and cannot be cooled properly. i7+2070+32Gb+fastest SSD is the best choice. 2080 will add 7-8% performance...

@@PhillipLemmon I watched several reviews of liquid metals and all off them name short lifetime and chemical reaction with alluminium, which destroys it completely. Even few drops on the motherboard will kill it. So be very carefull using it.

The biggest are temp. which can be even 100 C at the start of the system! And lately the button for changing the lightning of my keyboard doesn't work and I've tried every method to make it run with no effect. And this is not even the all. When I have to use it I have to downclock the clocks by 0,6 Ghz - which means 3,4 GHz instead of 4,0 GHz (for 6 cores working) to have more decent temps. And even the display/monitor have its flaws like backlight bleeding (thankfully rarely disturbing muchly) and some dark defect - thankfully not very visible. Knowing this before I would NEVER buy this laptop ! ...

100C at the start of system? I call BS on that - TJunction of that CPU is 100C, you wouldnt even be able to turn it on if it was the case.

Drop the power to the cpu by 5% and you'll get much better temps.
