It was hard to watch seasons 3-6 live, let alone rewatching it. Matthew got thinner and thinner, his bowling shirts were hanging off of him, but nothing changed about the show. Some of Matthew's funniest ad-libs come from those seasons.

Literally NOTHING about Hollywood parents can surprise me at this point. In Britney Spears' book she talks about cocktails with her mom at 12 or 13. And it's certainly not a new thing: Drew Barrymore, Corey Feldman, Rose McGowan, River Phoenix, Judy GARLAND FOR GOD'S SAKE. As much as I love cinema, after reading Jennette McCurdy's brilliant and heartbreaking book, it's beginning to feel a lot like we should give up this part of entertainment in our lives which involves children - because too many of them seem to be unprotected at best, and completely used and/or abused in other cases. And just to be clear - RDJ was abused by his father. He has every right to choose to forgive him, and he seems to have a big heart - but that doesn't change the facts.

I was on opiates from injuries for ten years. I really hated it, hated having to live from pill to pill. I finally got online and discovered kratom. It is not addictive and worked for me, I just went cold turkey and started losing weight, running and eating better, it took a long time but I am never tempted to go back to all those pills. Try again and again if you have to, but it is possible. I just happened to be born without an addictive personality, so I didn't back slide back into it. A lot of it is just whether you're born with something or not. I knew a lot of people who couldn't help it. I was just lucky..never judge others. We are all different. Compassion and empathy is critical in getting off drugs. It can be a long road, just don't give up, no one is a failure for having a chemical dependency, it's just the way it is. Insist on having support and zero guilt. Everyone is different and deserves care...

"substance use disorder " jesus... just say addiction or alcoholism
@KSchorrWriter
@KSchorrWriter 6 ай бұрын
Actually, "addiction and alcoholism" are no longer used in clinical language. Those words tend to point to some kind of personal or moral flaw and made it about the person. Substance use disorder is supposed to reflect that the person doesn't suffer from a moral failing, but has a disordered use of substance. In other words it is about the act/use of the substance, not the potential of value of the person. Also - that's not "woke" - it' s just science.
