Amandla, Xhosa, and amandla awethu. All so poorly pronounced. I mean it would have been nice to teach your daughter how to pronounce her own name. there are plently videos where we pronounce Amandla, its really not that deep, you could have learned,but ke. I also suspect thats why black panther passed on her. She would have butchered her name, the language and offend all us Xhosas in one movie. She was not gonna survive shame. Xhosas love their language so much. Even black panther, it wouldnt have killed them to work better on the language or give the roles to SA actors because WOW the butchering was serious. For me if you can learn french, spanish, latin, german, etc you name it. Xhosa is no different, the amount of affort you put in ensuring your french is pronounced properly , should be the same for ALL languages. Otherwise absolutely lovely and talented girl. I love everything she has been in. She is succeeding beautifully, i can not hate on her or anything. Just saying it wouldve been nice, anyways we are learning

As someone who speaks Xhosa I do kind of find it funny how Amandla misprounounces her name so badly😂😂😂😂 But oh well. I suppose that the incorrect/incomprehensible pronunciation she uses is technically the correct pronunciation of her name since that's what she calls herself.

The Darkest Minds is a book series in case some of u didn’t know. And it was a well done adaptation by a fantastic director who tried her very best. The cast was well done as it’s plot too. The only people who didn’t like it were those who’ve not read the books & old critics that don’t know hack & just critique whatever they like😤 While yes some could’ve been done more but it was a much better adaptation than Percy Jackson & the 5th wave. Not to mention that this shows much more relevance to today’s society much more than hunger games & divergent despite it’s YA status. Plus it was mostly overshadowed by Christopher Robin which premiered on the same day. And the chemistry between Ruby & Liam is so very satisfying & the friendship between the Betty Gang are heartwarming & sad at the same time. A few of the book fans agreed while some could’ve been done more it was a well done adaptation & should be able to continue!!!! #SupportTheDarkestMinds 🔱🧡🎥✊🏽

Wearing corn rows while being white itself is not bad, its only when the priveleged take it and it suddenly becomes "high fashion" because of it. The corn row wearer did not do this unless they called it "boxer braids" or took credit for it. Amandla actually said something similar which is why I was confused when she called out Kylie Jenner, then again, I dont know the whole story on that, so who am I to judge without first knowing the whole story?
