@@mlight6845 Wrong, humans know nothing they arent taught. It makes us highly adaptable. some are lucky enough to have good mentors Many learn this the hard way. Be thankfull your run is comfy enough that you can see it how you wish.. When you "think" you "know" things. All thats for sure,is your ignorance. "Good" is relative to the enviroment and is a learned behavior. Belief in absolutes concerning such things, is where the problems with religion begin.

I have great faith in the goodness of mankind. Each human can see what is happening and decide if it is good or bad based on they feeling they have. Think of someone reaching out to a dog paddling by in flood waters. Instinctively we offer help to those in need. We feel good when an innocent life has been saved. No one needs to teach us that. This is part of being human. This is not to say that people maltreated will learn the opposite and say spiteful things or engage in cruel acts.

@Mark Humans learn, Knowledge is not intrinsic, Your mentor may be hunger, But you were taught, Eventually( If you're lucky enough to have the right mentors) you may learn to study. Then you can teach yourself. Believing knowledge is intrinsic would inhibit this, which is the point i had made. In regard to the "false dichotomy" you created to deliver a passive aggresive "Ad hominem" Right and wrong applied to, how you feel (morals) vs. the color of the sky.(scientific law). Not the same, I guess zingers are more important than valid points for this Intrinsically "good" race. Stars wars is fantasy, Sorry you dont want to live in reality. You are very lucky to have a safe terrarium in which to do so. So cute when housecats think they did it all themselves.

Thank you Rev. Barber. You're echoing why as a teenager I was deeply troubled by many in this country who claim they're Christian and yet don't follow through on it. I don't inherently take issue nor judge anyone who claims to be one. I take issue with any group that claims the moral high ground and yet not only enables but encourages someone who is entirely antithetical to not only their own beliefs but I would argue the spirit of what being an American was supposed to be about.

This is an important discussion and we have no right to selectively pick what parts of Jesus' command we want to be submitted to. The false distinction of private and public morality is what it keeping us from living the Gospel with integrity. We have much to confess, repent and reconcile. @@nadine49517 I appreciate the optimism, but I honestly don't believe there is anything worth staying for. This isn't an exclusion of Jesus, it's an exclusion of Christianity. It is broken beyond repair. This isn't isolated to politics, Christians lie about science, morality, interpretation of the Bible and much more. The culture is fundamentally corrupt and in the next 50 years Christianity will diminish into obscurity. As more brainwashed people like me break free there will be nothing left. It is sad, at times in history Christianity has at times been a great force for good, but dishonesty has taken root and there is no way to get rid of it.

It is gratifying that there is an evangelical voice such as Rev. William Barber that exposes the blatant disregard to the Scriptural principles of the supposed "shepherds of the sheep". I wish he had added the comments of one like him of yesteryear. Read Ezekiel 34:2-4 and realize that God'd judgement is on them. He does not overlook those who in positions of spiritual authority disregard His word and mindset towards the weak, the sick, and the broken hearted. Their desire for power totally undermines what the world sees as the Creator's heart.

They think all they have too do is cross their hands and close their eyes and bow their heads. There now you're a Christian.

Reverend Barber is a true evangelist. Revelations tells us that we bring destruction to ourselves if we defile the Gospel for our personal benefit. Many church leaders will have to answer for misusing the Word to continue a corrupt system. 🙏

Wish they gave him a few more minutes. I listened to this while I was doing something else and totally thought he was saying the opposite of what he said and that he was pro Trump. Hearing that his main point was helping the poor I realized I must have misunderstood and listened again.

I like how Rev. Barber used the word to state on national TV to call out his own circle for being hypocrites

The problem is that in reality in the "churches" they teach is a warm preaching. Take what you like, whatever you do you are saved.
