Fox gets sued, pays fines, then uses the defense that they are an entertainment channel not a news network. We have completely allowed private influencers to disrupt a free press. Major overhaul with legal reform of our media will be one of the first priorities necessary by a Blue Congress. Look at what failure to do this has done; it is Trump’s primary tool just as it was Mussolini’s.

Until then, there won't be any laws passed to change the current situation. The GOP is quite happy to block any attempt to introduce accountability for judges, because they currently have enough of them in their pocket.

I say an 18-year term limit. That way, a justice will be replaced every presidential term, no matter whether it’s a one-term presidency or a two-term; so it won’t matter - everyone gets a chance to replace a judge. No waiting for one to retire, and no putting off sitting a judge.

@@debdenny7552 not sure how it wasn't clear from what I said, but I'll be more explicit in future, but if we are replacing a judge every 2 years in April , then even a one term president would replace 2 judges! (side note 26 year terms makes the math work with 13 judges, with 18 year terms you would have gaps, so that wouldn't work...)

@@JohnVDenley I get what you’re saying, but we don’t have 13 judges, and there’s no indication that we will. Right now, we need to work with what we have. It can be changed later. I’ve heard arguments against increasing the seats; but that’s neither here nor there. At the present time, we have nine, and we need to start replacing them right away. Regardless of our (brilliant) ideas, it’s up to Congress to have the wherewithal to make the changes necessary to stop this madness. That goes for Federal judges in the States, too. No one should be appointed for life anymore.
