What did he lose? nothing but a small amount of time and a portion of an unusual income amount. His sentence was to pay back the money that he had not reported and defrauded from a bank, but he had already received that money, just leaving him at a net zero income. The man got convicted of multiple federal crimes including lying to Congress (and banks, and the IRS...) but then received strange convictions for "election interference" for signing Non-disclosure agreements. The guy's a mess.
