One of Portal 2's easiest levels ended up holding the game's hardest Wrong Warp skip, here's how speedrunners conquered it.
Also yes, a full speedrun of Secret Panel performs a Pancake shot and the Toast Skip, might just call it breakfast at that point.

In my first playthrough I skipped finding PotatOS in the bird nest by flinging myself precisely over the top of the aperture logo instead of through it when the door opened, so she just randomly appeared in my hand like Wheatley does here 7:52

I have a theory: msushi and cant even are the same person. Both use one significant color, nothing else (purple and red). Both had some head to head action in older videos (one beated the other). And again, cant even set a new record, after msushi and the other speedrunners discovered the first skip he explains in this video. And third, u never see both of them at the same time. So my theory is, that msushi and cant even are actually one person, but msushi keeps this a secret to us, bcuz this is his secret strategy to become better by challenging himself, while being a different person... (Sry if my english is bad, its not my native one)

I love learning about speedrunning for a couple of reasons. One, I'm amazed at the lengths people will go to in order to save small amounts of time, and I'm impressed at the difficult tricks top runners can pull off. And two, I love seeing how different speedrun communities name their strats. Deep down, we're all just nerds who like to play game fast, and even though I don't run Portal myself (yet) I'm a huge fan of the food-themed strat names xD

It never ends, just because physicists have been doing physics for thousands of years doesn’t mean they’ve found all the physics, who knows if they ever will. It’s the same for speedrunning. Some old games are simple enough to be solved, but most (including portal 2) are nowhere close.

Doesn't this mean that the WR for the chamber after Secret Panel is technically only possible in a full game run where you use the toast skip to start the level and skip the doors slowly opening?

No - the individual level runs are usually done in challenge mode where you start at the intended starting place of the level. I guess if you’re like an ultra speedrun purist - yes you can do the level faster with the toast skip, but the community only really acknowledges challenge mode for IL runs
