I bought a 2017 with 0 miles and it's made this noise since I drove it off the show room floor. Most two-cylinders like this are "ticky" I have had a motorcycle mechanic listen to it, he's been dealing with Yamahas for 36 years and said "yeah, they all make that sound, just drive it like you stole it, it'll love it" never been a problem. Just hit 3505 miles.

Camshaft chain. Valve clearance. Make that noise. All 07 that I saw has this noise.

i have 10000kms on mine and i beat the snot out of it. it runs better than ever. Sounds smooth and no rattle at all... i use motul oil always and change oil every 2500 kms. maxx

any update on this? my 2016 is making the same noise, salesman said to tighten my chain and now the sounds louder and making more nose under acceleration. a week and a half before I can even take it in to get checked out
