Falls Creek is the closest alpine resort and snow destination to Albury, its an easy day’s drive from Sydney & four and a half hours drive from Melbourne.
In winter season the only way to reach falls creek is via Mt Beauty, other than snow season there is an additional route via Mt Hotham and Omeo which is better suited to those traveling from the Gippsland.
You can reach Falls Creek in a comfortable day of driving from most locations in Victoria and NSW.
From Sydney or Melbourne the best way is to take the Hume Highway, you can always take internal C(regional) roads to make your drive more scenic depending on weather.
Resort Entry and Parking
You need to get your on-mountain car parking for both day trips or longer stays.

During the snow season it is a legal requirement that all vehicles entering the snow resort carry snow chains, so irrespective of which type of car you have (AWD,2WD,4WD) you'll need to carry snow chains.
Depending on weather you'll need to put them on, rangers will guide you along the way and there'll be heaps of signs to indicate if you need to put snow chains.
