Good call, it was so cold up until the sun started hitting us. Bring an extra layer just in case, also maybe some mittens for the non technical areas!

Nice video. We went up and camped at the top of Palmer on 2/11 and summited on 2/12 via the right gate. Epic weekend to be up on Hood!

Thank you, it was a great day for the mountains. I use the Apple Watch ultra, it’s a great watch and deals with the cold temperatures very well.

can you ski down this once you get below pearly gates? moving to PDX in august

Oh yeah, a lot of people end up leaving their skis and extra gear at the hogs back for the last push then ski back down to the parking lot. They groom a “climbers trail” which makes it easy to skin up.

No but they can be useful depending on the snow conditions. If it’s fresh powder you will be happy to have them.
