Nice video! Thanks for sharing. I'm planning to climb Mt Hood in the spring. What was the thought process behind using one ice tool/axe vs two, especially when ascending the pearly gates?

It’s not completely necessary to have two ice tools/axe but having the ability to use one to help hold your body in position and the other to advance upwards is useful. Again not completely necessary but if you have two available I would recommend bringing them both.

We didn’t have to but my climbing buddie had brought his and they seemed to be pretty useful.
