MTA New York City Bus & MTA Bus Company : The Retired 1999-2000 New Flyer D60HFs [ Part II ]

This is part two of a two-part series of a retired bus fleet, in this case, the 1999-2000 New Flyer D60HFs. The series of retired bus & train fleets will be updated periodically when I have the time to do so.
This one-hour video showcases videos of these buses from Queens and Manhattan, including a rare shot of 1016 operating on the M34A +Select Bus Service+. This video starts from when these buses started service on the Q10, to when they were on their last legs in Manhattan. I unfortunately do not have any videos of these in The Bronx during their last days.
These buses were powered by a Detroit Diesel Series 50 DDEC engine with an Allison B400R6 transmission.

This’ll be a nice video to break down and watch over time. I always thought these would retire last but it bit the dust before RTS!

Dwells It is a very sad ending. I researched about that. This is what NJ Transit missed out in: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m6yRdsx90JrUlKM.html Not even the people that have these busses really cherish it. There are barely any videos of RtS Legend out there and mainly in videos not directly about the bus too. That link took me a while to find.

They didn’t bite before RTS Per say the buses were replaced by newer fleet but in actuality they could’ve been around for longer

They didn't miss out on anything....Millennium was unable to build the buses because of numerous problems(including funding) and delays. New Jersey Transit had to cancel the order.

ShaneAkACaitSith810 The unfortunate truth. Nj Transit has a system to run and couldn’t work with them anymore with waiting for them to build the RTS buses. What I mean is from what Texas A&M thinks. I hear they really like the RTS legends on old transit forms. Did NJ Transit when the buses were tested fail them due to a lack of progress in the plant? Or was it quality issues too?

1002 ex 5252 was my favorite bus out of this batch i remember when it git transferred to tuskegee and the engine fans was always on it made it sound like a rts

Ah yes I never forgot riding these units. I found em very classy because of the blue stripe wrapped around the whole bus and the black back scheme. I thought the white went decent but black back forever

Those buses now uses LFSAs and some LFS, the XD60s are gone on those routes
