Another analysis no one really asked for: I think TTJ challenges viewers by introducing a “vibe” into MTG that many folks aren’t used to/have never seen in their fnm. I suspect it turns a lot of people off, but as Magic becomes more popular we have the privilege of broadening what we define as the “mtg vibe”, and that can include people who challenge the previously stagnant magic nerd stereotype. Sick as hell honestly.

It's more than that. End the Festivities should have done 2, L-bolt does 4, etc. Even tapping your own painland hits you for 2 instead. Not sure if any of it would have mattered exactly, but it's notable.

@@TabletopJocks My own little theory is that, after the "break up" happened, a lot of people were quick to pick a side (as with any drama) and didn't give TTJ the chance it deserves. If anything, I think your vibe is what made the other channel so popular to begin with.

@@herman1850 I have limited time to brew especially on days where I have to film back to back games. Making 6 brand new decks to play with pods is a lot. Sometimes is is just a matter of throwing what I have together and rolling with it so I’m not playing the same decks over and over again. I don’t have a team. It’s all just me so I only have so much time. Appreciate the watch though. Check out my Moxfield but most of them are not budget. first time watching after a youtube recommendation, it feels very jarring that the overhead camera and front view camera put the players into different positions on the screen making it hard for me to track what is going on. enjoyed the game though!

how do you figure out what commander decks you wanna build for when you do videos?

@@dharcofuruk9105 honestly it’s a crap shoot. I build what I think will be fun for me to pilot and tell everyone else to bring a few options. Then we rule 0 and figure out what would be the best decks to play. I try not to play decks I’ve played before unless they have a bunch of significant changes or if I played a deck and it had a bad showing.
