There are a bunch of time walk effects that make you loose at end of turn but you can respond with sundial and end the turn 😊

I love how every deck you make are some of the most bat shit insane ideas anyone has come up with that no one would ever play in modern, but then you actually make it work. It's even funnier if the deck you make becomes meta again like humans. Great work

Same! I spent, like, a month tweaking the deck cuz cards like Sundial are tough since they don't do anything on their own, but the Sundial seemed to do a great job boosting everything else in the deck!!

@@MagicAids Could you not use Pact of the Titan? Next turn, ability goes on the stack and you "counter" it by activating Sundial. If you're on the play, you could potentially Gemstone to get Sundial out T1, drop a nutload of pacts EOT, then skip your second turn. Of course they don't have haste.

@@KyleBaran90 the last thing you want to do with sundial is skip your entire turn as a "value" play, it turns opponents removal into an extra turn spell for them.

So true, I remember when this came out and thought how trash this card was. But there are always uses. I was impressed with the usefulness of it in the deck.

@@Trov- yeah when it came out the only decks that could use it took a ton of splash damage from affinity hate, and they were good when the sundial was out but terrible otherwise. Plus playing an artifact on turn 2 was pretty much a death sentence.

Sundial is in my top 5 cards ever, some other stuff that it provides and you might consider is: Lotus Field/bouncelands, Claim the firstborn (treason effects), blitz, Chance for Glory (extra turn loose the game) to name just a few

The one Ring isn't too powerful, but it absolutely promotes unfun play patterns of "kicking the bucket down the road" and disincentivizes interaction --- exactly the thing that makes magic fun

with the exception of uro, I absolutely love the design of the titans. Kroxa and Phlage are both pretty good on the initial play, but give you much better value in the late game and can eventually be a win con all on their own, whilst not ever really being broken cards. reminds me of prison deck wincons. 👌
