Vice President Dick Cheney joined “Meet the Press” on September 16, 2001, just five days after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Cheney said that any nation, including Afghanistan, that provides “sanctuary” to “terrorists” will “face the full wrath of the United States.” Cheney said there was “no doubt” that Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda “played a significant role” in the attacks.

Cheney made more money from his position in the government than any other person in history. And the damage it caused was more than his companies putting out fires, building defective military equipment or charging the United States for his services to remove the equipment when the military couldn't. His actions proved to other morally deprived politicians that they could take advantage of American politics for profit with impunity. And now today we have a President that refuses his duties and a Congress, of both parties, that only work on issues that make them profit, ie.... oil and tech.

On March 24, 2012, Cheney underwent a seven-hour heart transplant procedure at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Woodburn, Virginia. He had been on a waiting list for more than 20 months before receiving the heart from an anonymous donor. Cheney's principal cardiologist, Jonathan Reiner, advised his patient that "it would not be unreasonable for an otherwise healthy 71-year-old man to expect to live another 10 years" with a transplant, saying in a family-authorized interview that he considered Cheney to be otherwise healthy.

On February 11, 2006, Cheney accidentally shot Harry Whittington, a then-78-year-old Texas attorney, while participating in a quail hunt at Armstrong Ranch in Kenedy County, Texas. Secret Service agents and medical aides, who were traveling with Cheney, came to Whittington's assistance and treated his birdshot wounds to his right cheek, neck, and chest. Early reports indicated that Cheney and Whittington were friends and that the injuries were minor. Whittington has since told The Washington Post that he and Cheney were not close friends but acquaintances. When asked if Cheney had apologized, Whittington declined t

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest thing: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war is worse...A man who has nothing which he cares about more than his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself!" John Stuart Mill 1806-73 Vice President Cheney is much more than a better man. He was the epitome of what a loyal patriot could be. Alongside other united confederates over a quarter of a century, he was instrumental in bringing US hegemony to its zenith by the turn of the millennium. In the aftermath of 9/11, his leadership was the essential cornerstone of the American republics response. I'm sure there were tears of joy coming from the eyes of Teddy Roosevelt on Mount Rushmore.

Cheney was very clearly "in charge " over those 3 days and his connections to Halliburton and such like perhaps edged his approach; having listened to "W" since he left Presidency I suspect that "W" regrets giving up Power to Cheney and "W" comes across as a very good decent Man, perhaps out of his depth on 9/11; yet he was The President who had succeeded much of his command to Cheney.......unusual for a Vice.....yet that's what happened.......perhaps if "W" had not been so influenced a lot of lives would have been saved.....
