Tim Russert moderated “Meet the Press” from 1991-2008. Under Russert, “Meet the Press” became an hourlong program. His deep research and thoughtful questioning reinvented the broadcast. Throughout his tenure, Russert interviewed Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Newt Gingrich, among other top political figures. He is the longest-serving moderator in the show’s history and the creator of its famous tagline: “If it’s Sunday, it’s Meet the Press.”
