Oioi Squad! it's been quite a while since we last set foot in the muddy estuaries and we are so happy to be back mudlarking!!! SQUELCH ITTTTT! Watch as we mess about in the mud and uncover some interesting and wonderful old things...

I'm so glad I found your channel. I love your enthusiasm !! I'm 74 years old now and disabled, but when I watch, I'm there with you. Thank you for the escape !! I lost my dad in a car accident when he was 57years old. We were so close, that not a day goes by that I don't miss him, so cherish these special time with your dad. By the way dad, you've done a great job raising your daughter !! I can see the day where you'll have a million subscribers !!! God Bless, love to all, Cathy from Seattle .........

The wood “donut” is a cutless bearing. Its supports the shaft (that holds the propeller) and goes through the stern of a vessel. It is made from lignum vitae a rare hard wood that keeps the shaft naturally lubricated.

The big wooden button appears to be an old riggers "deadeye", used in multiple pairs, upper and lower, and port and starboard, to tighten the masts lateral standing rigging. The groove around the edge is for the shroud line to wrap around it. The three small holes are used to tighten or loosen the pair. The big central hole is unusual. Early 20th century, methinks. Replaced mostly by modern metal turnbuckles.

I found a few on a 1867 shipwreck that have leather attached an numbers stamped on the pulley.

One of the funny things that I notice in your,and other’s videos,are the things that you do not take! As a person less than a month away from walking Thames mud,I would have taken that broken torpedo bottle! But that’s why you leave them,for rookies like me to find later on! And I thank you for that! Yeah Nicola’s Roman finds we’re shocking,AND,think about it,the theory that they may be burial items means that a proper archaeological effort could take place. Crazy!

The object you're soaking is likely a rope winch from a wooden ship of sail, perhaps 18th century. Great to see you out mudlarking again!

Thank you for the great episode! So wonderful to see you both out in the mud, I was worried you guys may have lost your mud legs,. How foolish was I? You were actually running in the mud part way through and your dad’s downhill, backwards mud moonwalk was great. I love seeing you guys pull out Roman bits and pieces, always exciting to see that. #SQUELCHSQUAD!!! It is so great to see you two out mudlarking again, and looking so healthy! After seeing you find so many great stoneware and glass bottles from so long ago makes me wonder how in the world they found their way into the back waters? I mean, where those areas places where people used to dump their rubbish in the past? All I have to say is, their rubbish is our treasure! Keep squelching away! Take care!! and keep hydrated!! After watching the entire video my favourite finds were the speckled hen stoneware, and that wonderful beer bottle. Fantastic finds, and it's great to see you both back to mudlarking!
