Well this week was a roller coaster of emotions! Out favourite beach has been transformed and we were certain it was lost but we were very wrong. The beach is definitely not as beautiful as it once was but my goodness we found many treasures to save!
p.s I apologise for the blobs on my screen, unfortunately my lens has been chipped on a rock. The dangers of mudlarking and filming close to the ground :(

Wow, Fleur, Kate, you will most likely never know how many lives you've affected. Your videos are my most favorite of anything out there. If I am sad, or happy, they always bring tears. I love your music, your locations, your photography, your love of history. I love your clothes, your relationship with each other. You give me joy just knowing there are people like you both still in this world and it is a treasure. I love the respect your children show to you, Fleur. I just love you both for all that you are and thank you for the most poignantly beautiful videos you make. You never disappoint.

The machinery actually helped you guys out unearthing things. The small white animal figurine actually looks like a pug dog I swear I see it frowning. 🤣💜

Kate, we were so happy to see your face light up on finding that Czech glass “dog”? It looked so much the Koala bears we have in Australia. All those other wonderful finds added to the excitement of this lark, like that lump of glazed clay, beautiful colouring.! Beads, stoneware, inks and cute little bottles, couldn’t ask for more Fleur. The two of you bring joy.

Yes, an emotional roller coaster! I started out in tears. I couldn’t imagine what they had done to that beautiful beach! I was gutted. And then you started finding the amazing items and bottles and the glass charm and my heart was soaring for you both. Oh what a magical journey ❤ Thank you for taking me along. Thank you!!

I say way over kill what they did to the beach. There are better ways to shore up a bank much less entrusive.

it was so sad when you walked on that beach..i hurt for how it must have made you feel BUT! Wow! your mudlark robin must have been somewhere near..my heart soared with joy and laughter for both of you when you found that charm and that whole doll head!! every second of every video is soo exciting watching what you find..absolutely makes the day when I see you both.Saving treasures from a bygone time.

This week I learned that no matter what we think, we should always try to confirm it. And that's exactly what happened with the work done on the beach, that looked bad, but might have revealed new layers for you to search. I love to see you guys happy!

Clearly the Czech glass dog is the showstopper. One of the fascinating things about it,is that it is a representation of a slightly earlier version of the breed,as all breeds of dog have changed remarkably in the last 100 years or so. The Bohemian glass makers were supreme,truly! What a great beach,despite the gigantic wall of new stone!

I have a silver lining to the stone barrier... All of the layers of stuff that have been washed out over the years are re-covered by layers on the beach now have a chance to resurface again without getting covered again. You will still have good finds there I reckon! My favourite things alongside insulators etc are printed stoneware, so I hope you both find printed lids some day! If you ever visit my are, I have found doll bits in my local bottle dump which I plan to test dig soon 😁 For the millionth time, Kate's face lighting up when finding something special should be therapy 😂

47:47 I love that Czech brown hare, Kate! Awesome scores today, ladies! The poison bottles, the pipe bowl Kewpie doll head… I think the bone item at 49:45 is a specimen base (missing the small glass cloche) for some type of animal skull or other taxidermy item. Probably 1860.

This reminded me of when the orchard was bulldozed. So sad to see all the rocks piled up on your favourite beach, even though it is to prevent erosion. In both cases there was a silver lining to all the bulldozing ⛅

Very fun surprises! Treasure! Careful with the buried long necks and side handles. There's so many glass fruit jars- I save all the glass stoppers and they go into a jar where the light shows through. I save dice and heads that way too. And marbles. I like filling the fruit jars. I hope you have many wonderful finds.

I could feel your heart in your stomach, Kate, as you were looking at those huge stones, likely thinking about everything trapped under there, so when you both had such an epic day, I was so happy and excited for you. Even my husband looked up from his movie and watched. I cannot wait to see what all you find over the remaining trips. If I won the lottery, I would pay someone to take me mudlarking in the UK. I want to do it so strongly that it hurts.

Wow! When you first started your video, I went oh no, what if they don't find anything. Then it was like Oh my goodness, there are still amazing treasures, and then Kate you found your little white dog glass charm ❤ and Fleur found that cute head ❤. I imagine the reason you found so many complete bottles is because they’ve been protected in the earth for so long and just freshly dug up. They haven’t been exposed to the tide and rocks and human feet long enough to be crushed. Excellent luck!!
