I made this harness from spare old straps, buckles and elastic. It's so easy and it works a treat.

Agree with the other comments. Great idea for pennies. Top man 👍

Made one and it’s fantastic, had an adjustable strap with a plastic click clip so user that. Sewed the other end to my harness so that nice and neat. The other end that attaches to the detector is fixed with the screw for my control adapter, just put a hole in the strap. Cheers for the idea, saved my £25 at least.

I just bought my first detector, CTX 3030 with Pro-Swing 45 harness, delivered 11/27/2020. I have bad shoulders. I’ve already learned the J-strut does make a difference in weight distribution. Hooking bungee to side without the J-strut causes the machine to pull on my shoulder, causing instant discomfort. It will take considerable adjusting / tweaking to get harness just right (for me anyway), but could not detect without it due to my circumstances.

Hi Calvin. You have certainly started the hobby with a top machine ! Having a bespoke harness for a CTX is a good idea, it's a heavy machine and needs good support and balance. I am like you, I have physical limitations, but with me it's more tennis elbow, a simple harness is enough for my detectors but I think you made the right choice investing in a proper one for a CTX buddy. Hi Max mate... just like mine, only I used a rigid strap, not elastic, with an adjustable buckle, and I just stitched a plastic D ring to my waistcoat jacket.. Something like 20 D rings ans 10 clips on Ebay for a couple of quid... I did notice you haven't got a strap on your spade, I have used one for a long time now, stops your detector blowing or slipping off your spade, always a chance of damage to your machine... just a strap made into a loop, and taped underneath the handle... Take care mate GL&HH Tom

@@MudMaxMetalDetecting Sorry Max, it's a bootlace I use on my spade, just tie a small knot in each end so it won't pull out from under the tape... on my last vid you can see me putting my detector into the loop..just a second or two right at the beginning... Tom

HI Debbie. Really sorry I never saw this I try to reply to all my comments. I've been detecting with a back pack lately and may well do the same thing. I'm finding a back pack is very convenient in the field. ATB MMMD
