Bought one after this video and I’ve had it for several years now. Worth every penny sometimes the hammer just doesn’t work and you need that added pressure to the ball joint. They are now double the price of when I got mine but still recommend it

Nice tool to prevent damage to suspension components to get other repairs accomplished without worrying about additional unnecessary costs associated with the task. I would buy one, but I don't get gravy jobs as much anymore to justify buying one...lol! I wish I would have had one of these about 7 years ago!

Hey Mike, would you do a video about your take on vehicle "flushes." Aftermarket cleaners/conditioners. I would like to hear your opinion on them. Engine, trans, brake, power steering, and coolant.

I think we have 4 of those in various sizes in our shop. Ours have a spring to keep tension so dont have to hold as much and a tether to wrap the control arm so you dont have to catch it on the stiff ones when they pop

You said Tie Rod, but then you wrote it was for Ball joints, then you used it on a Tie Rod ??? It worked ...

I've been using the harbor freight version for years. Usually only comes out when I'm trying to save the boot and it didn't pop apart with the usual prybar and hammer on the knuckle method. Or when something is REALLY stuck, a combination of pressure with that and SOME sort of hammering will do the trick. The downside is, when you REALLY need that tool to fit, it ain't big enough. I still don't understand why people continue to tell me it doesn't work... maybe they don't realize you're supposed to use it with a hammer, not strip out the forcing screw? But yeah, this might be a nice supplement to the 1" and 1 1/4" .498" pickle forks I have in the mail 😎. And of course, my SIM TOOLS LCAT6803. Would love to see this tool used on something larger to see how it fits/does, if you happen to have the chance. Of course that would fall right out while filming, must've been a million years to the day since the last time you had that happen? 🤣 I like when you've really got them cranked on and they pop themselves and everyone in the shop looks at you like you just had a negligent discharge, haha. Thanks for sharing!

You can take a grinder to widen the forks on the harbor freight. Still strong enough for my fleet of isuzu NPR's

How much is this tool? Went on your amazon link and the link for the tool manufacturer and did not see a price. Really interested cause it seems like this tool has a really high roi.

Will it work on lower ball joints that are pressed in or replace the old tried and true otc c frame to a degree
@flatratemaster5 жыл бұрын
It will separate a ball joint from a spindle, but will not press out a ball joint

Love your videos, but I’m kind of confused on this one. You say tie rod and the writing on the screen says you mean ball joints. But then you Demonstrate it being used on an outer tiered end ?
@High_Tech_Mountain5 жыл бұрын
101numlock can be used on either tie rod ends or ball joints. Separates joints from spindles without damaging boots.
@flatratemaster5 жыл бұрын
I noticed i kept saying tie rod in the video it is designed for ball joints but can also be used on tie rod ends
