Sometimes you want an ADVENTURE vacation! But sometimes...you need to just unplug from the world and get away from it all, very far away.

Beach camping is amazing. Looks like esc mode went fine. Seems to me that low tire pressure and a set of max trax are the key to sand driving usually. I want to try this in my xc90 soon.

You guys rock. keep the vids coming. I seldom comment on stuff and I'm torn about should KZfaqrs post locations or not. Lot's of fishing KZfaqrs are not posting locations to keep the spots away from high-pressure fishing. I recently visited a campground that was "secluded" and found several groups parting hard and even one group conducting a rave. They trashed the place. I'm torn about it but hope Usal is kept pristine as more people use it and know about it. The flip side is that during the wet season- unless you have a serious 4x4 with lockers- you are not getting in or out. We are also roofnest converts so rock on!

Too true, the process of discovering something by definition helps destroy it. There is a 6 mile long dirt road to USAL as a gate keeper to slow the tourist flow down, plus no potable water, so hopefully it stays a gem saved mostly for the more intrepid.

This place is already very well known and on weekends it turns into a full on party. Dont even bother going during holidays, like memorial day and 4th of july.

@@joshjohnson7043 I go 4 times a year and I disagree about the weekends. We spent the week before labor day there and were only 2-3 people. Labor day itself was insane and the place got trashed. There are plenty of places to party that don't require trashing these natural places.

Well...there are signs saying no camping on beach, yet clearly everyone does. No signs of any reservation system, first come first served.

"Driving on the beach is not allowed, and citations will be issued. **** Beach is not an OHV park. Street legal vehicles are allowed on designated and maintained roads." I know where this place is, and you are not allowed. But people do it anyway. Dont bother going on weekends. Its a mad house.
