Well done Namonde and Lizu for creating a great wee documentary. I was just a young child at the time of the disaster when we lived in Mufulira. My father was in the Proto (rescue) teams and I still have photos of his team. I remember him not coming home for days as the men took it in shifts to search for survivors. He died last year never having spoken about what he and his colleagues had to do on that fateful day. I have been away from Zambia since 1982 but plan to visit with my family in 2020 to show them where I grew up.

My grandfather lost his life in that mine accident.
