In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about the first meeting between Mughal emperor Akbar and Jesuit Christian Missionaries. On 28 February 1580, The Jesuits travelled to Fatehpur Sikri in Agra on the invitation of Akbar. Where a debate on teachings of Bible and Quran ensued. Akbar later added aspects of Christianity in Din-e-Ilahi. Akbar later built a church in Lahore and Agra Watch complete episode to know how Christmas was celebrated during Mughal period in India.

Thank you Nikhil for now calling Akbar with respect. I noticed that you have started calling Muslim kings with respect : 'Aap' , 'aye' , 'gaye' instead of 'aaya' 'gaya'. I think you should call all old kings with equal respect. Be it Hindu or Muslims.

Nice detailed video of relationship between Islam and Christians during Mughal era. Can we hear more on Nanasaheb Peshwa era ( Son of Bajirao I) where Maratha empire was on its peak. I hardly see information on his strategy, politics and relations with other kingdom/ ruler during his era and thought process behind the expansion till Peshawar.

It was the Britishers who clubbed up all castes and for the first time called it Hindu religion. Hindu religion did not exist before that while castes existed even in Vadas, Upanishads, Bhagwat Gita and in Ramayana. There is no mention of Hindu religion in any of these Holy books

अकबर के शासनकाल में तुलसीदास ,सूरदास भी थे सूरदास तुलसीदास से आयु में बड़े थे ,तुलसीदास रामायण लिखी चुके थे उनकी चर्चा घर घर बढ़ने लगी और दिल्ली तक जा पहुॅंची तब अकबर ने उन्हें दरबार में बुलवाया और राम के भक्त तुलसीदास से कहा कुछ चमत्कार दिखाओ ,तब तुलसीदास ने कहा मैं मदारी नहीं हूॅं ,मैं राम भगवान रामजी का भक्त हूं ,उनके अलावा मैं किसी के आगे सर नहीं झुकाता क्योंकि वे सबसे बड़े है वे ही मेरे रक्षक है ,इस पर कुपित होकर अकबर ने उन्हें कैदखाने में डाल दिया जिससे उन्हें कष्ट हुआ ,तब उन्होंने बंदीगृह में ही हनुमान को याद किया और रचना लिखी प्रभु का नाम स्मरण करने पर अगले प्रात ही पूरी दिल्ली को पता नहीं कहाॅं से आते लाखों वानरों ने घेर लिया और महल कंगूरे ध्वस्त करते हुए उसके महलों में सबको काटने और वस्त्र फाड़ने लगे और रनिवास में घुसकर प्रलय मचा दिया ,इसका प्रतिरोध भी किया गया किन्तु कोई फायदा नहीं निकला तब अकबर के यहां किसी बूढ़े ने कहा बहुत जल्दी ही कैदखाने से तुलसीदास को छोड़ दो और सम्मान देकर उसे यहां से विदाई कीजिये,तब यह सब शान्त होगा ,अकबर ने तुरन्त ही इसका पालन किया तब जाकर वानरों की विनाश लीला समाप्त हो गयी ,और लाखों वानरों पता नहीं कहां चले गये ,उसके बाद अकबर ने जबरदस्ती बहुत सा उपहार देकर तुलसीदास को नाव के सहारे उन्हें उनके गंत्वय तक पहुॅंचाया गया ,

अकबर बादशाह बहोत इंसाफ़ पसंद बादशाह थे अगर वो मुसलमानों के लीये मस्जिद तामीर करते तो हिंदू भईयों के लीये मंदिर भी बनवाते थे अकबर बादशाह ने कभी भेदभाव नही किया
