मुग़ल-ए-आज़म की शूटिंग का जलवा ऐसा था कि कई बड़े-बड़े लोग इसकी शूटिंग देखने आए. शूटिंग देखने वालों में चीन के प्रधानमंत्री चाउ एन लाई, मशहूर उर्दू शायर फ़ैज़ अहमद फ़ैज़ और बाद में पाकिस्तान के प्रधानमंत्री बने ज़ुल्फ़िकार अली भुट्टो भी शामिल थे. नौशाद ने इसका ज़िक्र करते हुए एक बार लिखा था, "उस ज़माने में मुबई के वर्ली सी फ़ेस पर भुट्टो की एक ख़ूबसूरत कोठी हुआ करती थी. वर्ष 1954 से 1958 के बीच भुट्टो अक्सर इस कोठी में रहा करते थे जबकि उनका पूरा परिवार पाकिस्तान चला गया था. जब मधुबाला पर मोहे पनघट पे छेड़ गयो नंदलाल फ़िल्मा रहे थे तो भुट्टो वहाँ मौजूद रहते थे." "वो मधुबाला से शादी करना चाहते थे. उन्होंने एक लंच के दौरान इसका इज़हार भी मधुबाला से कर दिया था. इसके जवाब में उन्हें सिर्फ़ मधुबाला का एक कहकहा भर ही नसीब हुआ."

I watched Mughal e Azam when I was quite young but watched it again some 10 yrs back when it was fully colourized What a masterpiece I was speevhless on leaving the theatre I still remembet when it wss released fr the fisrt time I heard a comment on radio which goes like this Maratha mandir dulhan hi tarh sajaya gaya hay So u can imagine how big an event it was Amitabh Bachan commented Even in 100 years there wont be a second K Asif born Comments that are self explanatory I feel proud to have lived in an era that produced so nice movies

Once, this movie again released at Nishat cinema hall at Kanpur Uttar Pradesh perhaps in 1980. Surprisingly, this movie was remained housefull for some days and its tickets were sold in black.

Watched the Movie last year for the first time. The Colorized Movie is edited with some songs missing as connected to the Black and White version. The Male compere should have done the program himself. He has the dedicated knowledge about this movie. Wonderful acting of Madhubala, but did not get any Award for her sincere acting.

My favourite songs from this childhood movie Pyar kiya Darna kya - Lata Mangeshkar Mohabbat Zindabad - Mohammad Rafi Saheb And movie is excellent, super and extraordinary. Old Indian movies were ( are) far better than modern Bollywood movies.

Can we make "Mughal-E-Azam again ? not at all. These type of movies are made once in life time. There is a team work .We are no more accustom of that hard work .It is not only obsession of K.Asif but his imagination .During the discussion ,there are scenes of movie. What an imagination ! Ek,ek scene samajh se bahar hai. Cinematography by R.D.Mathur shows to us ,what was in mind of K.Asif ? Mughal-E-Azam is Mughal-E-Azam of Indian/Pakistani and for all those people ,who can understand Urdu/Hindustani language .Sub titles and dubbing takes spirit out of dialogues. Mughal-E-Azam will be discussed and appreciated till seene mein dhadkate dil hai ! It was discussed by Ravish Kumar of NDTV also . Raj

The film deserved all the awards...it shows the politics of discrimination for so many reasons. ANYWAY,the love n response this film got Locally n Internationally is the best Award n a slap on those who ignore the best. Mohai Panghat was classic song in itself... Rest in peace all involved on this project.

जनाब रेहान साहेब, कई बार सोचा आपको लिखूं। आपकी किस्सागोई का कायल हूँ और ये जो बालिका आपसे किस्से सुनती है इसकी भी तारीफ़ करता हूँ। मुग़ल ए आज़म पर अभी आपने किन्हीं साहब का ज़िक्र किया तो जलन हुई। मैंने यह फिल्म करीब करीब डेढ़ सौ बार से भी ज़्यादा बार देखी है और इसकी स्टेज performance भी दो बार देख चुका हूँ। बस इतना ही कहना था।

Excellent discourse. Well researched and presented. I knew Rehan Fazal as a Hindi Journalist and was so happy to hear his Urdu. As good as any other English or Bengali journalist. His choice of words and pronounciation was perfect except Moghal which he prounounced as Mogul. I can appreciate this mistake when you do programmes in Hindi which does not have the sound of gha. Looking forward to other programs as well and thank you.

Dilip Kumar has told in this movie how vast range he had. The roll of Prince Saleem had a lot of shades. He portrayed all very impeccably. He was the real king of acting. You can see him doing comedy in Shabnam, Aazad, Ram aur Sham, as an angry young man in Aan and in this Mughal e Aazam. And who can deny he was a perfect romantic hero.
