Ali jr. Is a legendary fighter who took his father's legacy to it true potential, yet he never faced death, he really got beat up, but never saw or felt how death was really like, and baki was the only person capable, experienced and humble enough to let ali jr. Know what deaths feels like.

Folks think ali is weak, he knocked down jack, defeated goki and dopo (regardless of real fight or not), beat 2 great fighters in the Ri Tai tournament, reacted to a fast kick from YUJIRO and went up against Baki. The fact that he did those, regardless of the fights being serious or not, is an achievement.

Ali jr is not weak he just happened to be fighting one of the strongest characters in the entire show after he got a mega boost after the rai tai and getting cried on by his gf, because everyone knows tears are a power boost.

He’s causing the brain to shake hence is fast speed and the fact he pulls it off every time is impressive, I believe the author was going to use him as the second to last obstacle for baki but ditched him last minute

@@elzyofficial9087 even with the best techniques as long as he's still in fear he won't be a problem for baki he still has to face the harsh reality of street fights to death, as with Jack hanma once he was faced with true raw power he fumbled, he's still scared to die during one of these fights as opposed to boxing, in which it's really rare to occur

Then he was slightly above where Baki was before Baki became a man.So without Ali Jr there the ogre would have never seen him as Worthy. Ali Jr by the time of his true defeat was in the top 10. Only the Hanma family, Unchained were better

@@zesrabtanjeelkhan377 even if he had experience. Baki would still win due to his height advantage (he is 5'6 meaning he can take avdantage of Jr's height against him) and his speed. Remember, baki's training was insane. Jumping off a cliff, fighting an ancient ape, etc.

Baki did train a lot harder than anyone but considering the nature of Mohammad Ali Jr, he didn't really train that hard comparing to others coz like he said he never was a fighter. He got strong bcoz of his strong DNA from his father even though he never had true dedication for fighting. He actually never fought anyone close to his level. Even in that tournament, you could see he out leveled other chinese fighters. But he truely lost again baki bcoz he was just thinking how strong baki was.

Which is far from happening even if he did have the experience in death matches and willpower to win. Hanma blood is simply too strong and combine that with all the best combat techniques you can think of, (a.k.a Baki). Don't get me wrong, Jr is fast and strong. But his speed and reaction time is nothing compared to Baki's. Even if Jr had the same training regime and experience as Baki. Baki would still win due to Hanma Dna, Stronger Mental Strength to win.

He is just a sportsman, he was not prepared to lose his life. After getting rejected by Kozue he got mentally weaker, so he couldn't concentrate in fights. Getting clapped by Goki and Doppo made him even more nervous, to the point that during the fight against Baki he was not even concentrating on the fight with him

It’s funny to me that Jr is depicted as lacking primarily in warrior spirit and willingness to perish for the sake of victory when IRL Muhammad Ali basically went through an arc of winning without being touched to returning to the ring and winning on willpower and the willingness to be pummeled to win alone.

His character got an extreme nerf after Jack because of the absence of confidence. He couldnt concentrate and was feeling scared of Baki. Even when fighting Baki he was not concentrating and literally spend most of his time lying on the ground

I disagree. It showcased exactly how much heart and effort ali was willing to put into himself and how talented he was to begin with. What you're arguing against is exactly what makes the series great, nuance. As silly or outlandish as baki can get there's an underlying thread of reality in all of it too, the baki vs ali fight was essentially just 2 people at the height of their game and baki happened to get the opening first and take it. Baki himself even says as much to his girlfriend after the fight. Plot armor would have been the opposite happening.
