By this time of this Shavers fight , Ali’s physician Dr. Ferdinand Pacheco decided to quit Ali’s corner because he examined Ali and knew Ali’s kidney were shot, in addition to showing slurring in his speech, he knew Ali shouldn’t be fighting no more, and did the ethical thing of no supporting Ali in continually fighting, unlike the other greedy members in Ali’s corner.

After Ali beat Joe Frazier he was up in heaven in hall of fame of boxing career, he had nobody to proof anything, so unfortunatly he made only a big show and trained no more well just boxing, making show and earn big money to finance hospitals, schools, houses for his people. Sad he had to box for Nation of Islam, he had to be quit boxing at the end of his fight 1976. But imagine he is still the world champion here til he fought Leon Spinks. If he had end his career in 1967, then we had him with us in better health and enjoyed his voice for peace , justice freedom til now!

A great fight and the best video quality I have seen for this fight on youtube. This fight is one of the very few fights I know of which used open scoring. The OFFICIAL scorecards were broadcast on TV round by round during the fight. Ali's camp arranged to get the results during the broadcast and relay them to Ali and his cornermen. They adjusted their strategy accordingly.

Ali is too good. Incomparable; just look at how powerfully built Earny was. He could have knocked out Ali in the second round but Ali's dancing feet were just amazing to lift him off the ferocious blow.He can dance the whole 15 round without tiring, and this is what many boxers don't have the ability. He's got a huge reserve of stamina that most opponents simply succumbed as the round intensified. You just can't beat him. That's his calling. RIP GOAT You will always have fans

Why do people compare Ali **past his prime** with parkinson to Tyson in his prime? The comparisons are ridiculous, smh! Prime Ali between 1964 -1968 would destroy Tyson at his best 1986-1990. No contest. Compare their prime years and look at the footage and listen to their mindset. Even Tyson admitted this. He said he would have lost to a prime Ali. T & T Tucker and Buster Douglas were only a shell of Prime Ali, and Tyson lost to one and had problems with the other. In the words of Ali, "If you even dream of saying, Tyson could beat Ali, you otta wake up and apologize!"

I don't know if he would have "destroyed", you're underestimating Mike Tyson. Also no need to get emotionnal, you're talking about that like Ali was some kind of superior entity and acting like it was a serious offense to think that Mike Tyson could beat him. I didn't see anyone here even comparing prime Mike Tyson Muhammad Ali in his 30s in the first place. You're seeing drama where there isn't even one...
