I met Mukri Sahab in flight in Jodhpur Airport in 1981. Really he was amazing man.... He gave me autograph on my boarding pass, which I had in my sweet memories now....

What i like most about Tabassum Aapa is that she not only talks about big stars of the golden era but to those modest artists also who were the powerhouse of the talent but somehow got shadowed by the stardom of the others. Salute to u Ma'am, this shows how pure hearted u r💐

Tabassum Aunty , thank you so much for presenting before us the journey of one of my favourite comedians besides Johnny Walker sahab i.e. Muhammad Umar Mukri sahab . 😀 Just like the hero-comedian association we got to see between Guru Dutt sahab & Johnny Walker sahab which became so popular , similarly , my favourite actor Dilip Kumar sahab & Mohammed Umar Mukri sahab's association was equally popular . Aunty , Dilip Kumar sahab got into the world of acting by a mere chance & when he got , he even helped his friend to get into the same field so that he can support his own family like his own . This reflects their true friendship . & the rest is history . They worked together in 'Pratima (1945)' , 'Anokha Pyar (1948)' , 'Aan (1952)' , 'Amar (1954)' , 'Kohinoor (1960)' , 'Kala Bazar (1960)' ( as themselves but not as an association ) , 'Ram Aur Shyam (1967)' & 'Vidhaata (1982)' . May they rests in peace ! 🙏

I remember the song ‘madhuban mein Radhika naache re’ in which he was shown to sing difficult raagas of Hindustani classical music. I used to see him consult a renowned neurologist in Andheri (w) for a number of years. He always seemed to be extremely uncomfortable. Wonder what his ailment was.
