There was a beautiful kiss scene they filmed but Disney decided to not include it in the final cut of the movie because they thought it would upset fans in China.

Troy Hekerie That’s too bad. American film companies should never acquiesce to a foreign country’s inclinations. They sometimes release a “Director’s cut”, so why not release a version more palatable to that country’s taste and another for the home audience? Unless perhaps China is financing Disney’s projects, which would be a whole other problem.

I'm kinda disappointed why people hate this movie tho , cuz the story plot is basically focusing on Mulan and her journey to become a warrior. I understand that this movie may not live to everybody's expectations but to me it's still a great movie!! :)) p.s luv the vid❤✨

There was no journey, she was already strong, the animated showed a TRULLY journey of becoming a warrior. Mulan here is just a mary sue

@@carolinamixi987 If you have the 1998 animated version fresh in your memory, then you will realize it was totally not plausible that a woman with no skill at all join the army without any doubts and fears. And to top it all off, Mulan was the only one who outsmarted her entire regiment, out of all the men, out of the blue, without prior physical training or military strategy training. Not only is that reverse sexist towards the men, as if no other men can be equally as smart as Mulan, but it also gives a wrong message to children that with no hard work at all, you can outsmart people out of the blue. However the message of the Live Action Mulan was, that if you are good at something, don't hide it because society tells you to. That can apply to anything. That can apply to trying to make a promotion in your line of work. But also trying to come out of the closet, if you are a gay man or woman. Furthermore it didn't mean the Live action Mulan didn't put hard work in it. The entire beginning of the live action movie was dedicated to Mulan being trained by her father, and her father requested that she needed to keep her skill a secret, you cannot possibly have missed that. So she did put work in it. Mulan became excellent not because she is a woman, but because she happens to have received excellent training. She did not outskill her regiment by sheer coincidence, but by hard work. The only thing is, she happens to be a woman. The message of the live action is, gender doesn't matter when it concerns skills through training. Another point is that she is an equal to her other fellow soldiers, she is not better or worse, but equal. Didn't you notice her entire squad survived the battle. So they are equally skilled, only Mulan standed out more, because the commander even admitted her father was a skilled soldier aswell. Since Mulan got trained by her father, it is nothing but logical Mulan is skilled aswell.

@@BingDwenDwen i saw soldiers die in that movie, when i was able to concentrate on how boring that movie is. Mulan animated made more hard work because she knew nothing. This one was strong because why not? She is not an inspiration leaving aside the "Dont hide yourself" which is fair. Mulan 2020 was boring.

Am I the only one?... i watched the movie. Even though she was disguised as a man. For some reason I felt like deep down that guy new she was woman. It just seem like something was there between them. Unless I'm reading in to it too much.

Thank you for making this video! After watching Mulan, I feel that Mulan and Honghui's relationship here is actually much more fleshed out as compared to Mulan and Li Shang's in the animated film. Like you can actually feel the chemistry from them. Plus Honghui is incredibly charming and gives off strong Prince vibes ❤️ Now I really hope for a sequel to happen, just so that I can see more of them together 🙏🏻

I yesterday watched mulan and i honestly loved it! I really don’t understand how ppl don’t like this movie I know it was something different and not something Disney would do that’s why maybe ppl were expecting something else If you go on to compare both the movies you’ll never find anything good to say about the new one but if you look it as a movie alone it is awesome! I love the realistic approach on it and I do miss mushu but the amazing movie made up for it I think ppl are not giving it a fair chance and comparing it against the original I feel this movie is more for older children because smaller children will probably get bored while watching it,and since there are so many disney fans that are children it explains why Thank you for reading my ted-talk

I don't understand why people hate this movie... Now that Mulan finally becomes a historical movie where she is independent and true, they want changes what old mulan movie had..... This movie was amazing and showed Mulan's true ability and devotion to family....

I respect your opinion, but there are reasons why people hates this movie. For example : Mulan in the animated movie became strong by training everyday in the army, here she is powerfull just because...why not? The movie has a lot of bad editing, that looks terrible. They tried to empower a character that was already empowered, the difference is that in this movie it doesn't have an explanation, she didn't made an efford to became that powerfull and strong, she was already like that.

@@carolinamixi987 I think they show her doing well in combat since she was young, to show that she has been training since she was a child, plus she is also gifted, but society forces her to hide her gift. I think (my opinion only) the idea is kinna like Elsa, you know, gifted but force to hide it. Not sure what you mean about the bad editing, any example you could name?

@@similanjitjaroen8491 There's some fight scenes that has too many cuts while editing, that looks like those bad soup operas. Yeah, she was training since she was young, but it was supposed that she couldn't train! Because she is a woman, i don't think the society made her hide that since u can see her running in roofs since she was little. Edit: Also! In the first movie, Mulan fights using not only what she learned in the army, but she moved also with feminity (Im not sure how to explain that, could be easier in my native language) instead of here just trowing an arrow to the enemy, i don't know, in my opinion it just feels like they could had made much better. Edit 2: (Yeah i forgot to add things) Disney said they wanted to do a more realistic movie...when in the wordl a wich is more realistic? And in my opinion, the point of the first movie is show how Mulan mades a big efford to become strong, she never gave up, but when u see this Mulan, what was her challenge? She was capable of all very fast, instead of showing a progress of herself

This was so cute Mada! I really liked these two! I had heard Shang wasn't gonna be in the movie at all so I'm glad there was still a Shang character. Even if he wasn't technically Shang 😂 I almost wish they had given us more scenes with these two though bc i feel like we only just scratched the surface with them

Your editing is so great! I love how you made this. I haven't seen the movie yet, but we planned to watch it in the theater a lot before COVID came into the picture. Can't wait to actually watch this! And I'm happy to know, that there was still some kinda romance in the movie, because when I read that there will be no Shang, I thought there would be no romance at all. But I'm glad, I was wrong! Aww, I really can't wait to watch it!!!

This is so perfect and really beautiful edit. I really love these two and hope they have more scene together but I think it make sense to take the thing slow like this cause they in war and he just know she is the girl. Disappointed that they rewrite the storyline of love between general Shang and Mulan. 1998 Mulan is more fun and inspiring to watch. But I would highly appraise the performance of Liu Yifei, she expressed this character with every aspect that Mulan carried. Good job, Yifei!

For me i understand people hating it because they dont know how to understand the movie, but for me it was one of the best live action disney movie i watched so far.... It doesnt even had the songs in it ... Imagine if they add it there ... Its better💜

I know!! I really wanted to see the kiss too. Aparently they had to remove it because the first people to watch the film were a small chinese audience and they didnt like it. I really dont know why but it seems that they wanted to be very respectful with chinese culture, then again not sure exactly why they HAD to remove it. Lets cross our fingers to see it in deleted scenes.😭
