Mule 2500 modifications and repower, Duro Max 18 hp

Brought the Mule 2500 back up to todays needs. Repowered with the Duro Max 18hp engine. Raised the engine 8.5 inches and the base and top engine mount was 12 inches. Use the stock length CVT clutch belt for ease of future maintenance. 60 amp GM alternator to supply enough power for the winch and extra lighting .

Nice rig. Iv been messing around with a few gas powered carts. Stepping into new territory for me. You did a great job on that build. Every thing you do it top notch.

Great build rusty! Pennys on the dollar compared to spending upwards of 30grand on a new one! I’m sure you enjoyed the build, plus you’ll know your machine better than a newer 1!!! Take care my friend!

Super project nicely done, that deep cycle battery and alternator will accommodate an ass kick'n stereo system... Lol... The LED light's Rock.!!.... With this Mule you can have fun while gett'n some work done.!!... Thanks for sharing and as always thumbs up.!! ... PS... I love these father/son projects.!!!

Wow, I could really use that, although it really would be overkill for my little property here. I was offered a JD Gator, but I couldn't really justify the price, plus it needed some work. The Yazoo is only good for mowing. Even if it had a hitch it would be too cumbersome to use as a tractor. I like the modifications you made and that engine really increases the value of the machine. Thanks for letting us take a look.

Fantastic work!!! I recently bought two mule 2510s...one ive got running great, the other was for parts...but its pretty much only missing the engine. I happen to have a briggs 20hp vanguard engine i rebuild laying around, and an alternator off a ford 6.0 that works. Was your mule originally a diesel? I found some conversion kits for them, but theyre all for the diesel engine ones. ALso where did you pick up the shaft extension and clutch/pulleys? Any advice would be huge! again thanks for uploading this

Niiice!! How fast did you get it up to?? We had a mule at the golf course years ago, the mechanic slowed it down to 30mph!! Was nice when we needed to make a quick trip to the shop or to turn water off!! Thanks for sharing with us Rusty!! *Have a good'nnn*

I don't doubt that is better than it was when it was new, I think that rope will do fine instead of a cable, yes I know how that steel wire can hurt..
